Literally NOBODY building a pure workstation is shopping the X3D chips unless they KNOW one of their major workloads responds to extra cache!

I wonder how the upcoming single-CCD 7800X3D will perform. I like that it's a single-CCD CPU vs the dual-CCD in the 7950/7900X3D. If it can boost to 5.6GHz, despite the official boost rating only showing 5.0GHz, then that could potentially be the best of both worlds (gaming & application, when app not limited by # of cores). But how can it? Unless the OS is intensely profiling them somehow, or just looking up executable names, I dont see how it can tell the difference between ffmpeg and a minecraft server maxing out a core. The higher the L3 cache is, the better gaming or intensive processing workloads can perform, that's because it's the largest level of cache available on a processor.

There's very little that we can fault the Raptor Lake flagship on with its performance. That's due to the excellent Raptor Cove and Gracemont cores with its hybrid architecture that makes it a processor that's difficult to beat outside of its expensive price point.
