This is supposedly based on the (wonderful) Audrey Hepburn movie “Roman Holiday,” and as someone who has watched that movie approximately 802 times, I’m confident in saying that’s an affront. the ending was so dragged out, it was so unnecessary i thought it was all pretty average but some of this dialogue was so difficult to get through What a loopdidoo of good and bad this was….so LET’S separate this into the good (what worked) and the bad (ooof). it seems to me, annie, that you are just waiting for someone to give you permission to be yourself out loud.” Annie, is a flower shop owner and I found her to be so charming, relatable and humorous. But there's one thing she is not good at- dating. In comes, Will who is Amelia's bodyguard with tattoos 👀 . Will is sexy, confident and clearly has trust issues. But if there's someone he adores- it's Annie. Upon agreeing to help her practice her dating abilities, the two never realised that there could be something more.

Amid steamy practice dates and strictly 'educational' tutoring lessons, the lines of their friendship blur and Annie reconsiders what her 'dream guy' might look like. Maybe her love life doesn't need to be perfect - it just needs to be real. Noah reluctantly lets her stay at his guest room. He knows he is in real trouble as soon as the woman in distress walks in her house. Because she’s famous, she’s beautiful and she’s gold hearted, lovely woman! His heart has already been broken by another city girl a few years ago. He cannot let that happen again. Amelia can't resist falling for the cozy town and her grumpy tour guide, but even Audrey had to leave Rome eventually.

When Noah Walker finds Amelia on his front lawn in her broken-down car, he makes it clear he doesn't have the time or patience for celebrity problems. He's too busy running the pie shop his grandmother left him and reminding his nosy but lovable neighbors to mind their own damn business. Despite his better judgment, he lets her stay in his guest room--but only until her car is fixed--then she's on her own. The story is very character driven and has so many fantastic characters, including the side characters. It is told from the perspectives of both Rae and Noah, who are so much fun and very enjoyable to read about. I loved all of the banter between Noah and Rae and their slow-burn romance makes the book a perfect rom-com. ❀ Hallmark Vibes

The small town of Rome has the Gilmore Girls vibes - there are a lot of meddling side characters, there are no secrets and everyone is involved in your private life. Not my favourite thing usually, but I found it cute here. Some situations were a bit OTT, but still cute and fun. Reminded me a lot of small towns created by May Archer and Lucy Lennox. The MMC was generic and boring. Being tattooed, ex military, and emotionally unavailable doesn't automatically make him an interesting love interest. And honestly, there's no way in hell this man who is well-traveled and 'super hot', who has dated models around the world and jumped out of airplanes, is going to fall for such a lame FMC. It doesn't make sense. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.*** Sarah is my all time favorite comfort author, i absolutely adore every book of hers that i’ve read and this time was no different! i seriously cannot remember the last time i had this much fun with reading a book 🥹

It seems to me, Annie, that you are just waiting for someone to give you permission to be yourself out loud.” Florist Annie Walker is determined to find someone who complements her life. But after overhearing her latest date describe her as 'so unbelievably boring', Annie wonders if the problem might be her. Is it too late to become flirtatious and fun like the leading ladies in her favourite romance movies? Maybe she only needs some practice . . . and Annie has the perfect tutor in mind. Sarah Adams’s books are woven with pure sunshine and rainbows.Perfect for fans of Abby Jimenez and R. S. Grey, When in Rome is a slice of delight that will leave you smilinguntil your face hurts. It’s everything you could want in a small-town romance, along with a heaping dollop of her signature wit and sparkling charm.” —Amy Lea, author of Set on You Sarah Adams’ books are woven with pure sunshine and rainbows . . . It’s everything you could want in a small-town romance, along with a heaping dollop of her signature wit and sparkling charm’ AMY LEA Plus, there's ZERO spice, so even if you think 'you know what, maybe I can put up with the bad because there's smut', you'd be wrong. The story? PERFECT. the couple? AMAZING. the tension?! INCREDIBLE. Honestly this was one of my favorites from Sarah Adams. . .THIS WAS EVERYTHING.’⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

They are playful, flirty, fresh and gosh every time they interacted sparks flew. I loved reading about their feelings and getting to know them. Is Rae Rose officially off the market? And could it be that she’s been hiding in Rome, Italy, all this time? The relationship between Annie and Will is sort of a slow burn, without the 'burn' part, but there is also an instant attraction between them, which we are very aware of every time they talk or just see each other. I missed a more gradual progression and the excitement of 'will they, won't they'. I mean, obviously they will, since this a romance, but Annie's "I only want to get married" and Will's "I never want a relationship" didn't carry any weight here. Wow oh wow! I had never read a Sarah Adams novel before this one, but let me tell you something: IM DEFINITELY ABOUT TO READ HER OTHER BOOKS. When in Rome basically took over my life for a day.. because I think I read this book in a day? I mean I think I started it yesterday and I finished it today in the morning, so.. YEAHHHH Sarah knows how to grab my attention instantly.Amelia is fun and quirky but doesn’t seem like a pop star to me, but that’s okay, she’s still an interesting character and the perfect love interest for Noah. I also enjoyed Noah’s sisters and the way they meddled in his life.
