About this deal

Character Development: She creates memorable and complex characters that are easy to connect with, and readers enjoy watching their journeys and growth throughout the stories.

Diana Casillas is trying to do one thing in her life correctly: adulting. After two years, she’s settled into her own home, has a giant dog who loves to sleep, has become the legal guardian of her two nephews, and has enough family members and friends. All that’s missing? A boyfriend. Or a husband. But Diana doesn’t think she needs one of those. It doesn’t help though that her next-door neighbor is handsome and attractive. It also doesn’t help that he’s in the process of getting divorced. He blinked. But it wasn’t a normal blink. It was the kind of blink that changed your life. The kind of blink you noticed enough to earmark this moment in history.”Mariana Zapata surprises readers with the release of this story. I think her strengths are always found in her ability to write day-to-day scenes in her stories while building the excitement of the couple actually connecting. It’s written in the same vein as her others as she takes you day to day with her characters building up the tension until the very end. You know those illusive moments that give you goosebumps, and make you antsy (even though allllll of that pining and crushing and fuming is just as exciting as the “ finaaaaalllly getting there” 😉 )? Diana Casillas, homeowner. It was about time. I had been more than ready to get out of the two-bedroom apartment the boys and I had been holed up in for the last two years. Writing Style: Mariana is popular for her slow-burn romance style, which is engaging, emotional, and relatable. I’m glued to this book and have dropped the other ones I was reading till I’m done with this one. So far I highly recommend it to anyone who liked Kulti or WoW or who appreciates slow burn and well-written characters with integrity.

This story is about Diana Casillas, a twenty nine year old woman, doing her best to raise two boys who lost their father. When she moves into her new house she starts to get to know her neighbors while traversing the waters of raising the two boys as they are getting older. She is trying to do her best, yet she can’t help feeling like it is not enough. Perhaps the change of scenery will prove to help their family cope with loss and maybe even lead to something more with the support she finds in others. I’m Diana, your neighbor,” I explained, because though we’d met twice, apparently he still didn’t remember me. If that didn’t make a girl feel good, I didn’t know what would. When she moves their little family to a new house to be closer to work, she meets her mysterious and cold neighbour Dallas. The slow burn romance between these two is next level sweet and beautiful, the relationship that blooms between these two warmed the very bottom of my heart. There was also an age difference of about twelve years, with Diana twenty-nine, and Dallas forty-one, and I loved it. The ages never really came into play to be honest, I didn't even realise there was one until the ages were mentioned and I absolutely was in love with the way the characters interacted together. They were beautiful. Everything was beautiful, okay? Diana was such an amazing character. She really just wanted to be friends with Dallas. And I loved how she tried to curb her attraction and keep their friendship platonic even so she knew her feelings had changed. SO. I liked this book. I did. But.. I couldn’t help but compare it to The Wall of Winnipeg And Me. I know that’s a big no-no, but what I was looking and hoping for in this book was the same explosive and palpable chemistry Aiden and Vanessa had. And to feel that instant connection I did with those characters. This book tells a story that may not sound powerful. If it sounds powerful, it’s because the main character (Aurora) is powerful. Aurora is going through a very tough situation in her life and is forced to start all over. So she moves to a small town in the mountains where she used to live when she was little. Her landlord happens to be very grumpy and very hard. Rhodes was grumpy but soft for her, but hard in all the other ways that matter. The book is everything, and it makes sense why it’s a masterpiece. A guide to Mariana Zapata books by category and tropes For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable. This though was agonisingly slow, and even though I enjoyed the listen (Callie Dalton doing a wonderful job as always), I felt that this one was a wee bit dragged out even for MZ hence the four stars. But you know what? We don’t know either way. ‘Cause we’re only seeing life (and him) through HER eyes. And his attitude is true. His brusque persona is WHO we get, because for the most part? It IS who he is. And for a good reason.
