After several years of work carried out with the use of milling machines of other brands, I decided to buy this product for its versatility and power of the engine.

Thiis router replaces an earlier Triton router which has served me well for two decades. It carries on the tradition of powerful, versatile machines. I mainly use it in my Triton router table, for which it was designed and is ideally suited. Nothing daunts these routers they can cope with the heaviest work with easy. At the same time the height adjustment means that it is easy to get precise adjustments for accurate results. But the quality isn't what I expected, the bushing on the rod was not ok from start, it is a Little better now, but sometimes the Construction jamed and it was really impossible to move the height position without using one hand on the clutch and one hand to lift the router on the other side, It has gotten better, but I cant explain if it depends on Wood dust in the bushing or if it was some grades on the rod in the beginning.In the meantime, I have already worked some pieces of wood with this router and I am just as excited as on the first day.

I’ve long considered my Bosch 1619EVS to be my favorite 3-1/4HP router, but priced just under the Bosch online, the Triton TRA001 is a serious contender. Where Bosch wins on ergonomics and well-controlled power, Triton takes the lead with innovative features and raw power. If you do much horizontal routing and/or precise template routing, because of the handle design and finely-tuned power, I’d probably recommend the Bosch. However,if you’re a single router shop and do a lot of plunging and table work, the Triton should be a top choice. For amulti-router shop, the Triton is a fantastic choice for the table. I also love the soft-start which mitigates the torque reaction felt during hand-use... if I had any criticism, it would be that the pressed-steel collet spanner had a razor-sharp edge on one side from the manufacturing process, a touch-up with a file sorted that... There is a fine adjustment that will literally move the bit up or down by just a hair; this is also invaluable for rabbits, slots, or even just getting that nice roundover without the horrible line that always needs sanding out.

The ONLY downside that I can think of with this machine is the cost - it IS expensive. That said I cannot recommend it highly enough for more reasons than mentioned above. I would recommend this tool to anyone seeking reliable router with power to spare. Overall I like the router. I guess the only thing I'd chage is some of the parts feel like very cheap plastic. Like the plunging height stops and the plunging shaft. I have a feeling I will have the same problem in a few months because I use the router a lot. Sadly I had to return my router for repair after only a week of use. The reason why this is a pro is because customer service was excellent and the return was a breeze.

No lights on the router like others (DeWalt) so make sure you have plenty of good lighting. Big and beefy means increase the safety! I installed my Triton in a table right out of the box so that is my only experience but it does the job exceptionally well. It is extremely powerful and handles large bits such as raised panel cutters with ease. The soft start feature is very handy with those large bits also. I use my Triton exclusively in a closed router table with my dust system so it has an external power switch which makes the covered on-off switch for bit changes a cumbersome process but one I have come to accept due the performance of the tool otherwise. I have had my Triton for a good while now and it works flawlessly. I bought it specifically for use in a router table and I especially like the fact that no lift is required to lift the router above the table for bit changes and adjustments. A great feature and a serious cost savings. Predrilled for Triton: This plate comes with predrilled holes and mounting hardware to fit Triton M0F001 and TRA001 Routers. With modification, the hole pattern also works with the Porter-Cable 7500 Series. It has been three years since my original review for this router (under the name FirstMM) - it is safe to say that the honeymoon period is definitely over on this tool!

The proprietary screw-on hose attachment is annoying. How about including an adapter for those of us who don't want to buy you proprietary vacuum? In the end I bought some plastic hose at ACE Hardware and duct taped it onto the vacuum port. The handle on the lifter will not clear a fence that is higher than about 4.5" so you can't lift the router in a continuous motion with a tall fence - you can do it with a bunch of half-turns. How about selling an extension rod or a longer one? Undrilled: This plate comes without any predrilled mounting holes. Alignment marks engraved on the underside make it easy to center and mount any router using the detailed instructions that are included with the plate.Plus, being worried that I didn't have the aptitude to repair the unit myself, another call to tech support eased my mind, and the tech walked me through every step of the process.
