HE CALLS HER HIS LITTLE SERPENT DLSFJSDLFJS how can you expect me not to fall for this?! 😩 Vincent was such an interesting character to me .. his duality was so hot. On one hand he is this savage king who rules with an iron fist and has no problem burning a city with 500k men, women, children, human or vampires to the ground. On the other hand he is a nurturing father where his one and only weakness is his little serpent. Along the way, obviously my love for the main characters grew but damn Vincent you will ALWAYS be famous 😭💗 In short, I still feel like this author's too green in her writing to pull off the level of convincing and complex fantasy story that she's trying for here. This book was recommended to me by my friends so I went in blind (I didn’t even read the blurb) and they did not steer me wrong!!

But so much of this story relied on the plot and after a certain point, I wasn’t a fan. Why should I care for the plot when I hardly grew to care for the characters? That’s hm i loved every interaction between them. Like hello?? I will not discuss the Kejari tournament so you can experience it. Hopefully, it does not cause you a sleepless night as it did me. I just could not put this book down for anything. The ending has me theorizing! I have thoughts on the direction the series might be going and certain characters that are a bit of an itch I cannot reach to scratch.
