About this deal

a b "Best of E3 Awards 2008: Best Wii Game". GameTrailers. July 27, 2008 . Retrieved July 28, 2008. Classic Game Room gave a positive review. They declared that The Conduit was an enjoyable first-person shooter on a platform nearly void of them. They also praised the online multiplayer, claiming "...it works like it should". The first-person shooter boasts a competitive online multiplayer component and a thrilling single-player campaign. Advanced graphical features include dynamic environment mapping, interactive water with real-time reflection, and four-stage texture composition including gloss, diffuse, and bump mapping. High Voltage Software launched a contest for user-created control configurations for The Conduit on September 18, 2008. One control scheme would be selected from the submissions and added to the game as a preset configuration, and the name of the configuration's creator would be noted in the credits. [47] The contest ended with three winners being chosen; the results were announced by Lead Designer Rob Nicholls in a video overview of the game released on January 15, 2009. [40]

a b Casamassina, Matt (June 11, 2008). "The Conduit's Release Date". IGN. Archived from the original on June 14, 2008 . Retrieved June 11, 2008. Probably the worst review I've seen from you Drake. It seemed very rushed and barely covered the facts well.Best Multiplayer". IGN. Archived from the original on December 18, 2009 . Retrieved March 30, 2010.

While the actual locations are varied, the levels themselves can feel repetitive at times. Every single level has multiple instances of rooms which look exactly the same, and of course, it does get pretty boring and/or annoying if you have to go through what is practically the same room four times with slightly different enemies each time! High Voltage Software stated that they want to push the Wii's graphical capabilities, to make The Conduit's visuals comparable to those on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. [2] If only the rest of the game could have lived up to the impressive controls. The levels are poorly designed, alternating between generic shooter cliches and frustrating enemy encounters, with nary a sweet set piece battle or over-the-top boss fight in sight. Although you travel through a few different environments--including underground government bases, war-torn streets, and stinky sewers--the only difference among these areas are slight visual changes. They all play in exactly the same way, making for a repetitive and ultimately forgettable experience. Every level is comprised of narrow corridors herding you from one alien battle to the next, with dull key hunts serving as the only taste of variety. You also make the game sound overly easy due to the abundance of weapons but I found it to be far from the case in certain missions. Conduit 2 isn't a bad game, it's actually (as far as I'm concerned) the best MP FPS on the wii, not Goldeneye! a b c Biessener, Adam; Reeves, Ben (August 2009). "The Conduit". Game Informer.
