Particularly problematic for the camera is any scene of high contrast - metering with the snap can throw the exposure off and land you with a completely underexposed shot. This viewfinder doesn’t have optics, nor is it electronic. It’s literally a hole through a piece of plastic. It’s billed as a “retro viewfinder” but its use is limited since it shows a much wider view than the lens actually reproduces. It takes some time to get used to how much space you need to allow without cutting off people’s heads or missing out landmarks, but it’s something you get used to with a little time and practice. Settings on top of the camera allow you to adjust the style of the picture you want to take. You also have the option to shoot images using a self-timer or to do a burst of photos with the photo booth option. There’s quite a few things that we’d like to change about the Polaroid Snap. The ability to turn the flash off, the ability to not print if you don’t want to, or the ability to print something again, would all be great additions. Perhaps it’s something Polaroid can think about for the next iteration of the Snap.
Flash can be an issue with instant cameras. Some instant cameras automatically adjust to fit the current lighting needs. The Fujifilm Mini 9 Instant Camera’s flash always goes off, which can be a problem if you prefer to take advantage of natural lighting.

It’s true that the Polaroid Snap will never match up to a “proper” camera (or even a decent smartphone), but it also has the fun of being able to create a print within 30 seconds which you can share straightaway.
