Peppa Pig Live on Stage then moves on to the caves they are to explore The actors can’t be faulted, they do the best they can with what they have been given to work with (which isn’t a great deal). The show comes to London's Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season from December 2022 to 1 January 2023. Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever’ is not a million miles away from its predecessors (‘Peppa Pig’s Surprise’, ‘Peppa Pig’s Adventure’), insofar as the bulbous puppets and costumes (probably the same puppets and costumes) representing our heroine and her pals are joined by Daisy, a peppy human interlocutor, who accompanies the Pig family on their trip and bulks out the two-part show with what feels like endless songs. Peppa Pig is excited to be going on a special day out with George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig - it’s going to be her best day ever! Peppa Pig is excited for a special day out with George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig – it’s going to be her best day ever (apparently) on a road-trip full of fun adventures. Get ready for a road-trip full of fun adventures. From castles to caves, dragons to dinosaurs and ice-creams to muddy puddles – there is something for all of the family and their friends to enjoy, including Miss Rabbit, Mr Bull, Suzy Sheep, Gerald Giraffe and more!

Peppa Pig Live on Stage then moves on to the caves they are to explore

This isn’t the first time Peppa Pig has taken to the West End stage, with previous productions including Peppa Pig’s Surprise and Peppa Pig’s Adventure delighting audiences young and old. The bright colours are visually stimulating and have even the tiniest children gazing at the stage in awe. Peppa, George and their young friends take the form of cute bouncy puppets (designed by Karl Evans Studio) while the adult pigs are played by people in giant bulbous costumes which manage to stay on the right side of the line between fun and terrifying. A large dragon puppet strays ever so slightly across this line, drawing a mix of giggles and excited screams. Fun lighting (by Matt Haskins) during the cave scene also goes down especially well.

Peppa Pig: Best Day Ever is a brand new show. Previously, live shows included Peppa Pig’s Party, Peppe Pig’s Surprise, Peppa Pig’s Adventure, and more. This show follows Peppa Pig as she goes on a special day out with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and George. This is going to be the best day ever for them! The set looked cheap and there could have been so much more done to make it look magical. Daddy and Mummy Pig were played by actors in costumes but kids Peppa and George were played by puppets operated by people on stage. Whilst I understand children probably didn’t notice the humans behind the puppets, there are so many talented child actors who I am sure could have played the parts in costumes to make it more realistic. On Friday Monsieur Incidental and I took Little L (3) to the Duke of Yorks Theatre, London, to watch everyone’s favourite pig, live on stage. It's a good opportunity for very young children to experience a big theatre production in a relaxed environment, with familiar characters. Energetic Lizzie Burder gives CBeebies presenter vibes as she leads the children in an almost endless stream of sing-songs. There is a decent mix of original songs (with music by Mani Svavarsson and lyrics by Matt Lewis) and familiar classics, although at times it feels more like a toddler music class than a West End show. Miss Rabbit is in charge here (it will come as no surprise that Miss Rabbit does all the jobs during this production) and she escorts the hard hat wearing family into the cave system. There is a nice segment in the dark with lights from the hard hats.Richard has previously directed and adapted multiple Peppa Pig live stage shows including Peppa Pig’s Adventure, Peppa Pig’s Party, Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt, Peppa Pig’s Big Splash and Peppa Pig’s Surprise.
