The aptly-named MoonSwatch has the exact dimensions and design of the original Omega, including "lyre" or twisted lugs, and a wider right case flank that serves to protect the crown and pushers. You'll also find a tachymeter bezel with the "Dot over 90", as well as slightly stepped subdials that the MoonSwatch adopted from the famous Moonwatch. Some MoonSwatch design elements are taken from particularly sought-after Speedmaster models such as the " Ultraman" or "Alaska Project". Along with the Swatch and MoonSwatch logos, the dial also contains the Omega logo and the famous Speedmaster lettering. The Mission To The Moon is the most “classic” looking of all the MoonSwatches. The dial is straight out of the Moonwatch playbook, and the lighter gray BioCeramic clearly aims to mimic the metallic color of the Moonwatch’s steel case. I feel that this makes straps a little easier to some degree, as if it works for the Moonwatch, it’ll likely work for the MoonSwatch. There is one exception, however: please don’t go putting steel bracelets on your MoonSwatch. It’s not big, and it’s not clever. Nobody is laughing with you; we’re laughing at you. The OMEGA Speedmaster is one of the most well-known timepieces in the world. With the launch of the Moonswatch last year, OMEGA and Swatch have reimagined the cult timepiece that is the Speedmaster. The Moonswatch has been on everyone’s lips since it launched – in part due to its affordable price and not least due to its exclusivity as a hard-to-find product at Swatch Stores. The Mission on Earth MoonSwatch features the widest palette of colors in this collection: the case is an earthy green, the bezel and dial are navy blue, and the subdials are white. The chronograph hands round off the watch nicely, and are a brownish red. The Swatch x Omega bioceramic MoonSwatch is a remarkable timepiece that combines Omega’s famous design signature of the Speedmaster “Moonwatch” with the colorful, playful style we all know and love from Swatch. In this article, we will explore the design, strap combinations, features, technical specifications and significance of this currently hyped and sought after watch. With the Mission to Mars and Mission to Jupiter, Swatch draws on design elements from the sought-after "Alaska Project" and "Ultraman" Moonwatch models. The Mission to Mars case is a fiery red, just like the thermal shield on the "Alaska I" from 1969. Swatch designers also borrowed from the Alaska I for the dial on the Mission to Mars, which is white with brash red chronograph hands. These even have the same shape as those found on the Alaska I, which were reminiscent of the Gemini spacecraft that carried American astronauts into space. Swatch watches have pulled one of the best publicity stunts as their latest release: Omega x Swatch Moonwatch collection is going wild. The Omega x Swatch Moonwatch is an exceptional business move from Swatch - one of the major players in Swiss watchmaking. As expected, wristwatch collectors and speculators have gone on a hunting frenzy, trying to lay their hands on the new collection. Omega x Swatch Moonwatch, change watch band to a Nato watch strap. Image credit : captured from video of DigitalFux 4K When you get a new watch, you want to strap it on and start enjoying it as soon as possible. Knowing you want to replace the strap right away and not having the replacement on hand can dampen the “New Watch Alert” fun somewhat. I’ve been there before, leaving some watches for days or even weeks until I had the right strap. Thankfully, when my Mission To Mercury arrived, I had the strap waiting on my desk, ready to go. Knowing I’m not alone and that a fair few others have expressed their preference for a different strap, I thought I’d put together a few options I’d seen, which I thought looked like good alternative strap options for the MoonSwatch. I don’t have options for every Mission here, so let me know in the comments if you have some suggestions. Sharing is caring! As the star of this collection is the bright sun, the manufacturers chose the color gold to represent the planet.

No, you grow up. The Mission To Uranus inevitably garnered memes and jokes aplenty at the time of launch. It doesn’t matter how old we are or how serious we can be; butt jokes are always funny. Once we got past the sniggers and laughs, we found the Mission To Uranus was a bright little beaut. Those baby-blue tones are refreshingly unisex, and the white bezel is the perfect complement. The MoonSwatch is a product of Swatch, with collaboration with Omega. Nevertheless, solely Swatch produces this watch. Since Swatch is one of the many watch brands in the Swatch Group, which also includes the movement manufacturer ETA, the movement in the MoonSwatch is an ETA quartz chronograph movement. You can find more detailed informations about the movement here. Which strap size does my MoonSwatch need?Take me to the moon "New Gent," which has a transparent case, and Space Race "Gent," having a mirror-effect silver-colored dial, are the final two watches in the collection. Swatch x NASA collection dropped the space collection on the 3rd of June, 2021. At ZULUDIVER we had wanted to develop an authentic Moonwatch strap for some time and early in 2022 we released the ZULUDIVER LUNAR strap. Early models sold out and the strap is now on its third production run! We undertook extensive research studying original NASA blueprints and numerous vintage photographs of astronauts to get our product as accurate as possible yet functional for daily use. To change the bracelet of your Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch watch, you’ll need a spring bar tool with a special 1 mm fork, that fits in the openings of the bracelet, for example, the Bergeon 6767 spring bar tool. If you want to know, how you install a NATO band on your Omega watch read our article All you need to know about NATO straps. Modelled on our planets, there are 11 watch models and HIRSCH has straps to match every Moonswatch, so you can combine your new piece with elegant and sporty looks alike. Whether you’re looking to replace a broken watch strap or switch up your look for any occasion – at HIRSCH you’ll find a wide range of matching straps for your Moonswatch. MOONSWATCH STRAPS IN A RICH VARIETY OF COLOURS & MATERIALS

All of the eleven MoonSwatch models pay tribute to one of the planetary bodies in our Solar System, as seen with their case and dial colors. The models that will catch your eye the most are probably the Mission to the Sun and Mission to Neptune. The former shines in a bright, lemon yellow, while the Neptune model stands out with its rich blue hues. As a side line it is also worth pointing out that Moonwatches look great on NATOs. Whilst NATOS were never used on any NASA missions the military chronograph style of these watches really lends them favourably to NATO straps and there are many options which give you the classic “over the spacesuit” look. There are plenty of choices for where to grab one for yourself, but the MoonSwatch in the images belongs to our Social Media Manager, Sinara. Her watch is on the excellent Bond NATO from Australian strap supplier, Artem Straps. Nacho, our Managing Editor, reviewed Artem’s NATO straps earlier this year and was very impressed. Given how neatly this Bond strap complements the Mission To The Moon, I don’t think you can go far wrong. The final pairing today is for the controversial Mission To Neptune. Why is it controversial? Well, you may have seen a few people complaining about the blue BioCeramic case leaving some blue residue on their wrists. There’s no hiding this, and it does happen. Ben’s Mission To Neptune in the photos was no exception, and it “blued” his wrist too. Despite this, the Mission To Neptune is a great-looking watch, and it probably wouldn’t be enough to put me off. I understand some people may not be too keen, however. Mission to Pluto – It might not be a planet any more, but Pluto’s watch stands out with a white case, tan dial, and red bezel and subdials. That's where the similarities stop. As opposed to the Omega timepiece, the MoonSwatch's case is made of Swatch's proprietary BIOCERAMIC. This ceramic blend is made of two-thirds ceramic, and one-third synthetic material derived from castor oil. This achieves a very lightweight case that can be made in various colors, which Swatch has taken full advantage of for these timepieces. There are a total of eleven color varieties named after planetary bodies in our Solar System: the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, the Moon (of course), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. A Velcro strap keeps the MoonSwatch securely on the wrist. The watch is an all-out assault of blue. You might be tempted to try and offset this all-blue visage, but I’m of the opinion to just roll with it here. It’s funny because Ben’s strap combination was the first thing I thought of when I first saw the Mission To Neptune images. I very nearly bought this exact model for this exact strap combo. Where is this strap from, you ask? Well, it’s another from Artem straps.
