Spectra's first name might reference an unsuccessful Mattel brand of the same name, only running for a single year in 1986. Since Spectra is a ghost, her skin is ghostly pale — almost stark white — and then fades to transparent at the beginning of her hands and feet. Her face is somewhat gaunt. Spectra's surname "Vondergeist" is German ("von der Geist") and means "from the ghost/spirit". Interestingly, while Spectra made up being royalty, the "von" part of the name does suggest she's nobility.

Spectra has a transparent appearance but her being chatty makes up for that, she is the typical always-texting-on-her-phone teenager. Spectra is seen texting on her iCoffin nearly all the time and she gets upset when she doesn’t have it. But she's kind and nice to her friends. The " Ghost Girl" is portrayed by Catina Duscio.Clothes: Spectra wears a lavender babydoll dress with a purple bow adorning the top, mesh cap sleeves, purple ribbon trimming, and and a scalloped hem lavender skirt with a lavender overlay that has a magenta and violet chain pattern on it. Both the skirt and overlay are Scallop hemmed. Despite this, if Spectra had to choose a best friend, it would probably her childhood friend Kiyomi Haunterly, who was loyal to her during the years they were together, as Kiyomi found her only friend in Spectra. Both were students at Haunted High and studied together at some point and support each others deeply, and despite it being a hard separation for her, Kiyomi was the one to reassure that Spectra's family choice to move between worlds was the best.

Her most recent bio states she's also quite close with Twyla Boogeyman a relationship that might be inspired by the reclusiveness of the two and their mysterious spookiness.

Clothes: Spectra wears a strapless waist dress in a deep yellow-green color with a chain link and flower pattern on it, along with beige platform heels covered in pink flowers. Her first bio stated it as 'everybody loves Spectra V', but seeming she wrote the bio, she may be lying. In the webisodes, she is never really seen hanging out with anyone and isn't immediately connected with any group of students. Journalism: Spectra is a good journalist, usually not getting her facts straight first, but she makes good stories and interesting ones. She eavesdrops around the school through walls and hiding and such, such as to prevent being caught, but she usually does not listen to what the monsters of the whole story say, and she says she leaves it to her artistic side to "fill in the blanks". Ghostly Gossip Accessories: She wears blue chain-and-ball earrings (same as her School's Out doll), two spiky purple bracelets on her left arm, and she has a big purple purse which she carries her towel in. Her towel has the same pattern as her swimsuit. In " The Case of the Missing Squeak", Spectra reveals that when she feels anxious over school tests, talking to her ghoulma calms her down.
