About this deal

As Manwë was completely free of evil, he was unable to comprehend it, leading him to believe Melkor's lies concerning his reformation. He released Melkor from Mandos, whereupon Melkor began plotting the downfall of the Elves and the ruin of Aman's bliss. He began to cleverly spread lies amongst the Ñoldor, who soon grew to resent the Valar because of said lies. Eventually, due to the rebellious actions of the Ñoldorin prince Fëanor, Melkor's lies were uncovered, but he escaped before he could be recaptured. Soon thereafter, Melkor recruited the great spider Ungoliant and poisoned the Two Trees. He then murdered the High King of the Ñoldor, Finwë, stole the Silmarils, and incited Fëanor's leaving Aman with most of the Ñoldor in rebellion. Although a real man should be competent with women and know how to create an abundant dating life on command, he should never get so caught up in the game of dating that he treats women like things instead of people. And the young men of this generation understood this. Mastering women, career, sex, fighting, survival or anything else doesn’t make you a man. Blending all of these to make the unique YOU is what makes a man truly remarkable and grounded.

After Morgoth's fall, Manwë cast him into the Void. In the Final Battle, when Melkor escapes, it is said that the Elder King and the Dark Lord will battle on the Plains of Valinor, but that they will not slay each other. By emulating the work ethic of the Industrial Man (in conjunction with the other traits I’ll be discussing throughout this article), we will be one step closer to rebuilding positive masculinity and being the real men our world needs. Súlimo literally means "the Breather", from the Quenya súlimë ("wind") [5] and Sindarin sûl ("wind"). [6]Most men consider themselves manly men because they’ve mastered one of the archetypes we just went over. They idolize whichever archetype they consider to be the coolest and shoot for it.

Although the Industrial Man’s work ethic was admirable and gave him a quiet power, it was also one of his biggest weaknesses. J.R.R. Tolkien, Christopher Tolkien (ed.), The Lost Road and Other Writings, Part Three: " The Etymologies", entry "MBAD" J.R.R. Tolkien, "Words, Phrases and Passages in Various Tongues in The Lord of the Rings", in Parma Eldalamberon XVII (edited by Christopher Gilson), p. 124 Nothing has been more transformational (for better or for worse) to modern masculinity than the rise of the Industrial Revolution. In the thought of Ilúvatar, Manwë was the brother of Melkor, but dearest to Ilúvatar and the one that best understood the will of Eru. [4] When Melkor created the discord in the second Song of the Ainur, Manwë took over leading the song, pondering about airs and winds. [5]
