Like Battlefield V, the real benefit came in just how smooth gameplay was. If Battlefield V is about the “rough and tumble,” APEX is about the flow. With my RTX 2080, I was able to push upwards of 120 FPS consistently which G-Sync was able to control and make super smooth. Sliding down a hill in a mad rush to beat an enemy team at a fully synced 120+ FPS is a glorious thing. The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC. The color temp was sometimes too cool for our liking, but brightness always seemed ideal.The improved color reproduction and contrast also makes the MAG 321CQR fitting for hobbyist creative work. MSI quotes the DCI-P3 color spectrum at 92% and the sRGB reproduction at up to 122%. Interestingly, there is no sRGB mode, so you’ll need to manually flatten colors if you prefer to edit with less saturation. Likewise, this display doesn’t support HDR and tops out at 8-bit color depth and 300 nits of brightness, so it’s not the best suited for real professional work, and HDR is a no-show. Naturally, motion clarity of the MAG321QR-QD is also great, thanks to the high 170Hz refresh rate. As far as I can tell, the Nvidia G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium support can minimise screen tearing quite well too, even in fast-paced games. The MSI MAG 321CQR features a 2560x1440 resolution (1440p or “2K”) with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. Tech writing has privileged me with the ability to try just about every major resolution and refresh rate popular on the market today and I firmly believe that this is the sweet spot for price, performance, and visuals. While 4K gaming might be tempting, the performance demands are huge. Even with two 2080 Tis, it can be a struggle to get new games to run at a consistent 60 FPS at 4K (I’m looking at you Rage 2).

There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used.Bomby569this looks like the rich people lamentation wall. Why would you want a 1000usd 27'' oled, ips is still fine. The same for 4k, so you have to buy a 2000usd gpu every year? I also wish that you were able to lower the display more. If I’m turning my head, usually it’s to look up and being able to move it just an inch or two lower would really help with that. Thankfully, the monitor supports VESA mounting, so it’s compatible with most aftermarket stands and mounts. Ultimately, what this means is that, if the MAG 321CQR is going to show ghosting, it’s going to happen with dark objects turning light. In practice, while I thought I may have noticed here and there, it was never long enough or prevalent enough for me to say for sure. If I hadn’t conducted the Lagom tests first and been actively looking for it, I doubt I would have noticed it at all. The MPG321UR-QD is large but not too large for the average desktop. In our experience, 32-inch monitors are the biggest screens that can easily integrate into a typical workspace. Though not as broad as 21:9 ultrawides, they have a height advantage that some users prefer. The MSI Optix MPG321QRF-QD virtually punches users in the face with bright colours. The display rendered 99% of the sRGB gamut at a whopping 167.4%, which is massive – it means that the MSI produces every shade required by mainstream games and with huge vibrancy. The display also handled 90.6% of the DCI-P3 gamut, so it’ll handle almost every tone needed by HDR games. The high refresh rate and FreeSync/G-Sync made movement feel extra smooth. There was no screen tearing whatsoever. Battlefield is a “rough and tumble” game series, as you’re often diving onto the ground and whipping your weapon around in big arcs when on the move. It’s important that the screen be fast enough to avoid motion blur or otherwise distorting the image. The MAG 321CQR did a good job here and stayed clear enough that I never once felt hindered.Smart Crosshair is something relatively unique. Not only do you get six different reticles, but their color can also be set to an Auto mode that ensures they are always in contrast with the image. The change is instantaneous and seamless. This is a very cool and useful feature.
