The measures you put in place should be part of your everyday processes for managing your business. HSG209: Aircraft turnaround: A guide for airport and aerodrome operators, airlines and service providers on achieving control, co-operation and co-ordination
Implementing ISO 45001 may help your organisation demonstrate compliance with health and safety law. But, in some respects, it goes beyond what the law requires, so consider carefully whether to adopt it. This may particularly be the case if you're adopting management standards to meet supply chain requirements of customers or contracting bodies. The guidance has been revised to simplify key concepts and to provide a stronger focus on issues such as senior management leadership, workforce involvement and occupational health. The new web-based guidance provides primarily information on managing for health and safety and is accompanied by web links to existing and more extensive guidance on specific features of health and safety management, such as risk assessment and leadership. A ‘hard-copy’ version of the guidance is expected sometime later this year.
HSE inspectors will continue to rely on a wide range of evidence and observations when assessing an organisation's compliance with health and safety law, not just whether they claim to meet the ISO 45001 standard or not.HSG191: Emergency planning for major accidents: Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1999 (COMAH)
