About this deal

It’s not going to leave a huge scent trail. It will be noticed for a little while, but isn’t going to take over a room. Then, it’s not going to even do that. Again, to me, this is a nighttime fragrance. The original was more of the office type of daily wear, while this one is a sexier evening wear option. On a cold evening, Intense is actually really awesome, and will get complemented. It’s one that I could definitely find a place for on occasion, but, at the price I could get something else that is a much better performer. It’s not a bad fragrance, actually quite good, but it could be magnificent.

Givenchy’s Gentlemen Only Intense is an easygoing masculine fragrance that doesn’t demand attention. It’s an aromatic, citrus-inflected woody perfume with a softly luxurious feel and could be suitable for casual or office wear. If you’re the type of guy who wants to smell good but wants something that isn’t demanding or too ostentatious then this one is worth a sniff. There’s only one small caveat – you have to act like the perfect gentleman whilst wearing it. It’s not an all-time great or anything, but this had the potential of being a under the radar favorite. The tonka bean and leather combination is so good here. However, the longevity on this one is really disappointing. After three hours or so I could no longer even detect it on my skin, I had sprayed some on my forearms, and got absolutely nothing from it. It’s so hard to find a good long lasting cologne sometimes. He also seems to be gradually disappearing from the market, as new successors have appeared under the name Gentleman for some time now.Ultimately, Gentlemen Only is a somewhat spicy and smoky woods-based fragrance, with enough sweetness to change things up. Very nice and refined.

Well, at least for those first few hours. It is a mature fragrance and will generally be a better fit for those in their late 20s and up. Intense is basically nothing here, since the fragrance neither lasts unnaturally long nor spreads an unnaturally huge veil of scent.

Again, this one might not be for everyone but if you enjoy that kind of sweet/leathery/masculine type of scent this could be a good look. The dry down becomes a woody, sweet, leathery, creamy/amber-laden affair. The house Givenchy had launched a modern version of the original and iconic 70s fragrance Gentlemen (1974) entitled Gentlemen Only (2013). Gentlemen Only is an elegant woody fragrance that smells like woods of cedar, vetiver and patchouli. With the beginning of 2014, its enhanced version enters the market with an added touch of smooth leather. Gentlemen Only Intense, though, never loses its refinement and elegance. Surprisingly, this isn’t too heavy of a scent. Smoky and dry woods, sounds more like a winter thing, but here it isn’t really. I would say that Gentlemen Only works best in moderate temperatures. It’s not terrible in winter, but I wouldn’t wear it in the summertime. Overall, is this Givenchy product worth a try? I definitely like the scent, although, I seem to enjoy the Intense version more… BUT Gentlemen Only just does not last. Plus, the Intense version isn’t really ‘intense’ and is quite a different fragrance all together. The opening is a sweet blend of tonka bean, amber, and the leather note. This is an interesting departure from the original which featured more of the birch wood, mandarin, and vetiver, which are downplayed a great deal in Intense. The opening has a bit more fresh spiciness, than this one will later feature. You get some of the mandarin, mint, and pink pepper.
