About this deal

Blue fescue plants are evergreen, but they do lose some of the older blades and grow new fresh deep blue leaves in spring. The older leaves adhere to the plant and spoil the bright coloration. However, you can simply comb them out with your fingers. INCREASES UPTAKE OF WATER & NUTRIENTS - Plants treated with Rootgrow develop a secondary root system, with the express purpose of seeking out new sources of water and other key nutrients that are required to keep your plants happy and healthy.

During the summer months the Festuca Plant - Intense Blue produces lustrous blue flowers whilst the intense blue colour transforms to bring yellow hues during the autumn. Ideal for patio pot and container displays around your garden. Growing Information Growing Information

Blue fescue plants do not need fertilization as long as an organic mulch is used around the base of the grass. GIVES NEW PLANTS THE BEST POSSIBLE START - Apply rootgrow by sprinking the appropriate amount into the planting hole, then place the plant in the hole ensuring the roots are touching the granules. Once applied your plants will begin to thrive better than before, improving plant establishment and subsequently bettering flowering and fruiting. Even though this plant is evergreen, there will be some leaves that will die out in winter. Simply comb through the hairy grass with your fingers to remove any dead leaves. Intense Blue is an easy to grow plant, even for a beginner gardener as it requires low maintenance. Once established, the plant develops tolerance against mild droughts. Also known as the Ice Blue or Casblue, this Festuca features bold and slender, hair-like tufts of leaves, that look like steel wires. In summer, Intense Blue will bloom with beautiful bluish-green spikes of flowers adorned with silver coloured plumes. The compact and mounding habit of this undemanding grass will add texture and structure to your garden. The roots are not deep on this grass and they perform well for many seasons in containers, too, with Golden Barberry or other yellow or variegated plants. Care of Blue Fescue Grass

REQUIRES A SINGLE APPLICATION - Rootgrow only needs to be applied once, a single treatment will generally last the entire lifespan of your plants. There are several varieties of blue fescue grass for the garden. The large blue fescue ( Festuca amethystine) is hardier than the regular blue fescue ( Festuca glauca). The plant also has several cultivars, such as the popular Elijah Blue. There is even a golden colored blue fescue. Planting Blue FescueFestuca Plant - Intense Blue Intense icy blue color will create unique flower displays in your garden Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3. CONTAINS MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI - A naturally occuring organism, Mycorrhizal Fungi has been benefiting plants in our world for millions of years. Rootgrow is a granular feed that is commonly used to promote vigourous and robust growth, even in poor soils

Keep the foliage looking its best by hand combing out the dead blades of grass and removing the flower heads. Remove the flower heads to help promote the tight mound shape of the plant. If you choose to leave the flowers, be aware the plant may produce some seedlings. Blue Fescue Growing Tips Intense Blue Festuca displays its best colour when planted in sunny spots in a garden. It will thrive in full sun or partial shade, planted in a dry soil that is well-drained. Water the young plants moderately in the first year. When planting the grass in a pot, add a good quality compost and ensure easy water draining.
