About this deal

Codex: Eldar Craftworlds (7th Edition) (Digital Edition), pg. 59-61, 62, 70, 120-125, 131, 141-145, 156-158, 162-164, 174-175, 177, 180-191, 316-317, 319-320, 322-324, 379-380, 383-384 It’s a cool mechanic, just wondering how long each turn will take with basically 2 movement phases. Aeldari warriors emulate the various warlike aspects of Khaela Mensha Khaine in battle, but each Craftworld holds a terrible secret in its heart. There is a chamber which contains an Avatar of Khaine, a molten metal statue which contains a still-living shard of the defeated warrior god. In times of war, this shard is awakened and set aflame. This colossus of battle bestrides the battlefield, a living god that scythes down its foes by the score. Wraithlord The 5+ is actually really nice, and the mini Transhuman will also really help considering they are only T3. Meaning you should be able to get into range more often, but if they put a ton of fire into 1W models, we’re not sure how much it will change their survivability. New Eldar Stratagem

They deploy a combination of powerful psykers who read the skeins of fate to predict the outcome of combat, soldiers who have walked martial paths that grant them skills beyond human ken, hardy walking constructs piloted by the souls of long-dead warriors, and lightning-fast anti-gravity bikes and tanks. It is rare to see an Aeldari warhost without a Farseer present to guide it. These immensely powerful psykers lead the armies of their craftworld, scrying the tendrils of the future with the help of arcane runes and psychic mastery. They maximise the natural skills and power of the Aeldari, and they hinder their foes with stupefying magics and eldritch storms. Guardian Hosts A few forward-thinking groups of Aeldari managed to avoid the Fall, building vast spaceships called Craftworlds and escaping their increasingly debased kin. Known as the Asuryani, these refugees have lived a precarious existence in the millennia since the coming of Slaanesh, preserving a more austere way of life and guarding against another calamity. For that reason, Guardian Defenders are briefed to avoid the closest and most furious aspects of combat wherever possible, though in practice they fight as bravely as any of their kin.

40k Eldar Guardians Rules & Stats Revealed!

Likewise, the humble shuriken catapults taken to battle by Guardian Defenders are more deadly than before. On top of the Shuriken ability we showed off earlier, these elegant armaments now have longer range and more reliable Armour Penetration – someone’s clearly sharpened the shurikens.

On some craftworlds, Ulthwé foremost amongst them, the Guardians are the most common of all Aeldari warriors. As the number of dedicated, professional Aeldari troops -- the Aspect Warriors -- in a craftworld are simply too few to meet all threats, those Aeldari dedicated to a civilian Asuryani Path serve as Guardians in battle, forming the bulk of the Craftworlder Aeldari armies. Then there’s the Crusade section, which is a cool way to grow and develop your army as you play games, as units earn experience and gain new skills and armaments. Tell epic stories of conflict and triumph as you blood a force of fresh troops and mould them into hardened veterans armed with legendary relics of war.The new models look really sweet and they kept the older style but gave them a new feel. The poses are much more dynamic, they have way more options, and actually, look like something from this decade. Let’s just hope the legs aren’t two parts, as that is so frustrating to build. Still, even if they are two parts, we don’t care because Eldar needs these models so badly! As a means of calming their tempestuous emotions and keeping their ancient enemy at bay, most Aeldari devote themselves to specialised Paths, on which they hone one skill, sometimes to the point of obsession. Aspect Warriors are the Aeldari who walk the martial paths. Each Aspect Shrine is built around the teachings of a Phoenix Lord, legendary figures inspired by the various ways the Aeldari god of War, Khaela Mensa Khaine, engaged in battle. All Guardians are armed with the signature Eldar weapon, the Shuriken Catapult, and wear Mesh Armour for protection. As each Craftworld has its distinctive style of clothing, typified by a colour or pattern, so too is the armour of their Guardians - green, white or grey for Biel-Tan, blue and yellow for Alaitoc, etc. However, this does not constitute a fixed uniform, leading to numerous variations not only between squads from the same Craftworld but even individuals within the same squad. [1] Aeldari seldom do things by halves – despite being a militia, each Guardian is a highly trained match for the most elite of the Imperium’s soldiers. The upcoming Codex: Aeldari gives them the boost they need to put on their war face* and go toe-to-toe with the galaxy’s threats. All Guardians are armed with the signature Eldar weapon, the Shuriken Catapult, and wear Mesh Armour for protection. Each Craftworld has its distinctive style of clothing, typified by a colour or pattern. This is matched in the armour of their Guardian warhosts. Green, white or grey for Biel-Tan, blue and yellow for Alaitoc, etc. However, this does not constitute a fixed uniform throughout the Guardian Warhosts. They will field numerous variations not only between squads from the same Craftworld but even individuals within the same squad.

While different Aeldari armies might choose to focus on specific aspects of the combat arts, they have a host of iconic units at their disposal. These are likely to be some of your mainstays. Farseer The Aeldari are a long-lived race, but in the aftermath of the Fall, they faced a slow demise, and a horrifying afterlife – for Slaanesh has staked its claim on each Aeldari soul in death. In response, the Asuryani bound themselves to soulstones, which capture their souls at their deaths to prevent Slaanesh from taking them. In times of great need, these soulstones are embedded in wraithbone constructs, so that the dead can bolster the armies of the living. There are many such constructs, including the mighty Wraithlord , the towering Wraithknight , and beyond. Fire Prism Guardian armour is tougher. This reactive thermoplas mesh now grants its wearer a respectable 4+ Save characteristic – without compromising the flexibility they need to pull off acrobatic Battle Focus moves . They can also be made as Storm Guardians, so there will probably be tons and tons of bits in this kit. Storm Guardians The article also shows the first Eldar Detachment for 10th edition, the Battle-Host. This has a very simple army rule, granting each unit in your force one re-roll to hit and one re-roll to wound every time it shoots or fights. We also get to see the Fire and Fade Stratagem, which for 2CP allows a non-aircraft unit that isn’t engaged to move after it shoots. It can’t charge later in the turn, but this could be a powerful tool to move a unit into cover, or forward onto an objective. Many Guardians will serve as an infantry force, organized into squads known as Guardian Defender or Storm Squads. Others will instead form the crew for various heavy weapons and light vehicles. These include Grav Platforms, Eldar Jetbikes and War Walkers, amongst others. Larger, more specialised vehicles are piloted by crewmembers who tread a path dedicated to these war engines. Guardian Wargear & Uniforms Warhammer Community: New! Plastic! Aeldari Guardians! (originally posted 03/01/2022) (last accessed 28th September 2023) It is a testament to the skill and technology of the Aeldari that even their civilians are capable of engaging an enemy army and emerging victorious. If these new rules are true looks like Eldar Guardians gained an extra 6″ of range which probably is better overall honestly. We had seen glimpses of what looked like new fusion and chainblade bits too so perhaps Storm Guardians may rise up to see some play soon with new ‘assault’ buffs.

Combined with their upgraded armour and the probability-twisting powers of the Strands of Fate special rule, these Serpent Scale Platforms can ensure each squad reaches its objective unscathed, ready for a deadly charge. Sufficiently large units can even bring two along for the trip, in case one suffers an unfortunate mishap along the way. They are more highly-trained compared to standard Guardians, but are arranged in a similar tactical manner, consisting of both Defender and Storm Guardian units. Guardian Defenders are the most common militia troops drawn from the civilian population of the Asuryani craftworlds. The weapons used by the Guardians vary depending on their battlefield role. There’s plenty more to see from Codex: Aeldari , which will be arriving very soon, so sign up to the Warhammer Community newsletter and don’t miss a single reveal. Speed and precision are the name of the game, as most Aeldari units – from Aspect Warriors to Fire Prisms – can move fast and hit hard, but can’t weather much return fire. Aeldari armies are highly mobile, a specialised scalpel that can bring down a much more powerful opponent by careful application of incredible force.
