The new pieces are new to Dungeon Tiles, and what I like about them most is that they offer new designs and (most especially) new shapes to play with. Each set contains 16 sheets of double-sided, high-quality dungeon tiles. Each sheet contains anywhere from two to six dungeon tiles of varying size, design, and shape. Each tile has two sides, with different images. The quantity and style of the individual tiles are dependent on the set. Thanks for correcting this! It’s still wrong in the blog post I commented on, though, but I guess that doesn’t matter all that much. D&D is now offering three new sets of Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated: the Dungeon, the City and the Wilderness. The reincarnated collections include 16 tiles, up from 10 in the old boxed sets. In Dungeons & Dragons, things reincarnate into something different and sometimes better, depending on the die roll. According to old legend, some characters killed themselves over and over until the party wizard successfully reincarnated them as something better than, say, a miserable human. For comparison’s sake, I busted out my old Dungeon “master set” and went through it at the same time I unboxed the new Reincarnated set. The Dungeons & Dragons: Wilderness: Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated offer 16 colourful tiles. As you might expect, these represent various locations in among the wilderness. They’re guaranteed to breathe life into any encounter! You can use these in any creative way you see fit. If you like you can use them to build encounters from official Wizards of the Coast adventures. Or, you can let your imagination run riot between sessions, and use these to help you design your own home-brew adventure! You can tell a lot of thought went into expanding this set because many of pieces expand the use of tiles in the set or tiles you may already have. New hallways let you connect rooms in different ways, transitional pieces between stone floors and sandy caves let you expand your dungeons and tiles featuring magical iconography have different colors on the flipside so you can show when a glyph of warding has activated.

And even though it’s a Dungeon set, there’s more than just stone floor textures. There’s rubble and sand, subterranean paths lined with mushrooms, pits that open into lava and water and magic runes inlaid into the floor.

Delivery options

A big part of being a Dungeon Master is painting the scene for your players. Some of that involves ‘theatre of the mind’, where you describe their current scene. At other points, you can introduce a physical map for them to place their characters on. The general scale in D&D is 1 inch = 5 feet, and these maps take that into consideration. Some of them have a 1-inch grid overlay on top of them, while others are pure, wonderful artwork. All maps are from a drop-down, bird’s eye view perspective. and sewer tiles) it makes some sense. I know you can place another 2×2 plain street or statue tile over the fountain, but it is not as flexible as 2 plain 8×8 street/courtyard tiles that I could place my fountain/statue/bench where ever I wanted. (A lament from the earlier sets), but the tiles are still useful.
