En cuanto a esta entrega, debo admitir que la portada no me entusiasmaba para nada, incluso me daba la risa verla porque cambia bastante en comparación con las dos primeras. Además, el interés amoroso me parecía un vampiro octogenario, no sé, me lo esperaba de otra manera. Lo siento, igual se debe a que he leído demasiados libros de vampiros tipo crepúsculo y me lo esperaba más “jóven” físicamente. As in the previous books of this series, this is an enemies-to-lovers romance, but this time we could feel the conflicted feelings of the main character even more. It wasn’t just about Floriane falling for a vampire, she realized that she was falling for him and was so confused because of those feelings and the fact that she should not like Ruvan, and being ashamed of her feelings and impulses even. It made for a very believable enemies-to-lovers, but at the same time, I was not that invested in Floriane and Ruvan’s relationship. There was obvious tension between them, but while I hoped they would both get a happy ending, I would not have been heartbroken if they didn’t end up together. I have mixed feelings about their relationship honestly… some parts were cute if you can ignore the cringey dialogues or cliché moments. Este libro me lo he leído en inglés: el nivel de idioma oscila entre un B1-B2 (intermedio). No cuenta con mucho vocabulario específico del mundo y la sintaxis es simple. As you can imagine, Floriane and Ruvan (the vampire lord) have many challenges to overcome. They’ve both been through decades of conditioning against each other. Other intriguing themes around the the unique magic that we each carry, revenge, and the morality of magic as it can be twisted by the user were also really thought-provoking and great for a fantasy audience. A unique element in the book is around the inclusion of the dreams that Floriane begins to have, and I appreciated these interludes as well as the way that they build in the story. Ultimately, the ending was highly satisfying and took some very unexpected twists along the way that I really enjoyed. THE ROMANCE still wasn’t doing all that much for me. While I felt the tension and slow-burn more in this story than the others, and it’s a bit steamier (but still not very steamy), it still just fell a little flat. I wasn’t begging for it by the end, idkHowever the real twist is something I hadn’t seen coming until the moment it happened, then suddenly it all made sense. Whereas Romeo and Juliet cared nothing about their external circumstances except the desire to be together at all costs, Floriane and Ruvan’s journey is not so simple. I know these Married to Magic books are only mildly interconnected, but a part of me kind of wants everything to meet up and culminate in something at the end. Like, every offhand mention of the Fae or the Elves has me keyed up. But more than that, you just end up falling in love with the characters and you want more. I definitely want more after this book. So I need them to all meet up so I can see familiar faces again.
