This book serves as a complete reference to the many stitches that may be achieved with the proper yarn and tools, as well as techniques for full projects. I also love how the book includes tutorials for other crochet techniques – not just Tunisian crochet. If you’ve ever felt confused about making a gauge swatch, creating pom poms and tassels, stitching on crochet fabric, etc., you’ll love the helpful explanations right here in this book! What we particularly liked about this book was how it managed to be both a comprehensive guide and very accessible. The detailed instructions are laid out in a way that feels like a friend is guiding you through every step. Might as well start with an obvious choice literally called “Modern Crochet”! Written by Molla Mills, this book focuses on modern crochet patterns for the home. Projects include baskets, pillows/cushions, rugs, and also accessories like bags and jewelry. One section I found interesting is on Pixel Crochet, which is similar to filet crochet. There’s even tips for designing your own pixel patterns! Get yours here.
