About this deal

Icons of Chaos Glory (IoCG) are a good cheap choice for terminators. Even with their high leadership, terminators do run the risk of breaking, which can be problematic in small squads. IoCG helps reduce this. Suitable for all types of terminators, but particularly good for small squads. Champions Abaddon the Despoiler– the Warmaster is still a great unit with some good abilities and while he’s not the invincible midtable machine he was there are still good reasons to include him in your army. These suits were still highly sought-after, however, as Terminator Armour proved adept at bloody, short-ranged battles waged in cramped conditions such as boarding actions and ship-to-ship engagements, hive cities and tunnel-fighting. Legions are out. Forget about your legion rules and traits, it’s all just CSM now. And while there will likely be special Detachments in the future to work with, none of the CSM characters have the kinds of faction keywords to create restrictions like the Space Marines do, so we may see more flexibility on Chaos Rosters even after the Codex drops. A Chaos Space Marine wearing Terminator Armour of any of the known patterns can move and operate with remarkable freedom and agility considering the sheer mass of the actual armour, which provides as much protection as an armoured tank hull.

As the Heretic Astartes further succumbed to the powers of the Warp, much of the organisation and structure of their former Astartes Legion or Chapter has disappeared. The Chainfist is the winner of the multi-damage weapon options. It costs the same as a Powerfist, and has an extra AP, does flat 3 Damage against vehicles, but trades flat 2 Damage for D3 damage against all other targets. Overall, it is an upgrade. I really think there is merit to throwing a couple Chainfists into a squad to really add the extra oomph in melee. In 1991 the range was expanded to include a Captain, and heavy weapons. This allowed for the full matching counterpart squads and officers to the Imperial Terminators. This not only made them useable in the 40K side of things, but as dangerous foes in Space Hulk. Note that funky Traitor Storm Bolter 1 with the over-under clips. NICE! Creations of Bile are really interesting. They have really flown under the radar since release, overshadowed by the Death Guard supplement in the same Psychic Awakening. But wow does this Legion add some interesting things to a Terminator unit. The Legion trait of +1 to Strength and Movement is great. +1 Strength pairs quite nicely with all of their melee weapons, and +1 Movement is okay at first glance, but great once you understand how fast this Legion can make the Terminator squad. The stratagems are where this Legion shines. The first is an advance and charge stratagem that gives +1 to advance and +1 to charge. Unfortunately, this stratagem has to be activated at the start of the movement phase, so can’t be activated while in a transport or while off the board. But that’s okay, because this Terminator unit (5” move on it’s datasheet) can move, on average, 21” BEFORE THE CHARGE, and a +1 to charge to boot. The development of Terminator Armour, as Tactical Dreadnought Armour eventually became known, was well underway by the time the Horus Heresy erupted in the early centuries of the 31st Millennium.

Exalted Sorcerer • Sorcerer • Warpsmith • Dark Apostle • Master of Possession • Master of Executions • Lord Discordant • Warsmith • Death Guard Sorcerer • Lord of Contagion • Malignant Plaguecaster • Plague Surgeon • Tallyman • Scarab Occult Sorcerer • Scarab Occult Terminators Icons of tzneetch (IoZ) are very good for terminators that are going to go MC or terminator hunting, where the increased invulnerable save can be used best. With the recent new imperial guard (IG) codex release IoZ may gain some more popularity since lots more melta guns and executioners begin to appear. Like IoN, best used in footslogging or DSing squads. Terminators with IoZ should be cautious of massed infantry shooting or charging at them. Chaos Space Marines • Havocs • Chosen • Chaos Terminators • Possessed ( Greater Possessed) • Khorne Berzerkers • Plague Marines • Noise Marines • Rubric Marines • Obliterators ( Mutilators) • Dark Disciple • Shrivetalon • Butcher • Cultists ( Accursed Mutant • Torments) • Chaos Spawn • Fallen CSM are very, very capable of shooting enemy Vehicles and Monsters to death. You have fewer options in melee, but can still rip open enemy armor with the right units.

With the same profile as a combi-bolter, costing 7 more points, and having a shorter range, there is very little reason to take this shooting weapon on Terminators.

Lord Of Skulls. Everyone’s favorite tank/train/whatever the hell that thing is can do some real work in 10th Edition. Access to -1 to Hit means it is harder to shoot off, and it loves getting full hit rerolls near Abaddon and exploding 6’s (especially with a Warpsmith to top off any wounds as you lose them). Chaos Terminators stand in high respect to the Chaos gods. Many of them are Aspiring Champions although often the only way to acquire terminator armor is to kill the previous owner. They usually form the bodyguard of the highest ranking leaders or Champions and are often seen enforcing the will of their patron. Often they abuse their position, intimidating other members of the warband, while many simply see them as a vision to strive towards, one day assuming the mantle of Terminator themselves. The Current 4th Generation (2019) Chaos Lord • Exalted Champion • Chaos Champion • Aspiring Champion • Sorcerer Lord • Daemon Prince • Daemon Prince of Nurgle • Daemon Prince of Tzeentch • Death Guard LordInnes has chosen to forego Accursed Cultists and Abaddon for a trio of Chaos Lords paired with minimum-size units of Chosen (the Chaos Lord gives them free uses Profane Zeal once per round). There are two Rhinos here, each marked with Nurgle to give them the ability to make them untargetable as needed, and ranged fire support shows up in the form of two units of Obliterators (one Nurgle, one undivided) and two Forgefiends. Chaos Space Marines • Havocs • Chosen • Chaos Terminators • Possessed • Greater Possessed • Khorne Berzerkers • Plague Marines • Noise Marines • Rubric Marines • Obliterators • Mutilators • Chaos Spawn • Fallen Angels • Noxious Blightbringer • Foul Blightspawn • Biologus Putrifier • Blightlord Terminators • Deathshroud During the first battle round, your army (and every unit from it) is engaged in Wanton Destruction. Helbrutes went from slow walking boxes to… slow walking boxes with synergy for the rest of your army, which means they will start seeing some real play. Whenever one of your units within 6” of a Helbrute makes a Dark Pact, it gets both the Lethal Hits and Sustained Hits instead of choosing just one. Improving to a 2+ Save will help it stay on the table.
