The best fantasy and world building is one where there are convincing explanations for places and things and actions and powers- there is no randomness. There is an inherent sense tying the fantasy together. The Fowl Twins does not have this discipline and logic - there is disarray and chaos. It’s sloppy writing, which is a shame.
