About this deal

Playing host? Our range of flavoured gins is sure to get the party started. Whether you prefer a classic dry gin or want to add some colour with pink gin, we’ve got a wide variety to choose from. Just some of the flavours we offer include summery strawberry, peach and mango. Boodles Gin certainly falls into a category with many of the other elder statesman of the gin world. It reminds me most acutely of Gordon’s, but fans of Tanqueray and Beefeater will probably enjoy Boodles Gin as well.

Boodles British Gin is a brand of gin bottled and distributed in the United Kingdom by Proximo Spirits. Martin Miller's is a modern take on traditional gin. It has that wonderful juniper dominance of a London dry and it is perfectly balanced, crisp, clean and simply an extravagant gin. Sometimes called Dutch gin or Holland gin, genever is a sweetened style of gin that originated in the Netherlands. Today, it is only distilled in that country and in neighboring areas of Europe. The biggest name in genever is Bols, and it is one of the few brands that is available worldwide. Make sure the lid is really tight. Apart from the possibility that the exposure to the air could cause the flavour of the gin to change, you don’t want any of your precious gin to evaporate!Of course, if you are going to prepare an afternoon tea, it really should be served properly with finger sandwiches, delicious freshly made scones with lashings of strawberry jam and Devonshire clotted cream and of course the finest bone-china pots. And do avoid putting ice in the pot itself, only place it in the serving cup. If you have yet to taste genever, it is unlike any other gin you've had. This style of gin is as if a soft Scotch whisky were married with gin, and Bols' malty feel is a perfect example. Based on Lucas Bols' original recipe from 1820, it has a wonderful balance of sweet malt and subdued juniper and citrus. It is triple distilled using equal parts malt wine and neutral grain spirits that are infused with natural flavors.

Today, drinkers can enjoy the diversity of gin.Unlike vodka, each bottle of gin is truly unique. The majority feature some degree of the pine flavor that comes from juniper, which is gin's signature ingredient, yet no two bottles have the same combination of botanicals. Top tip: you might even want to consider pouring remaining gin from a half-drunk bottle into a smaller bottle (if you don’t think you’re going to be finishing it up soon). This will help slow the process of oxidisation because the gin will be less exposed to the air.Say chin chin with our fabulous collection of gin. If you love a classic G&T, get your hands on your favourite gin brand, and don't forget the tonic water. And of course, grab some limes too. If you don't have a favourite brand, try a variety before making your mind up. Our gin miniatures are great way to sample our range of brands and flavours. You’ll also find the right gin glass from our glassware collection. Bols Geneverwas on the U.S. marketuntil Prohibitionand was not available again until the summer of 2008. It is bottled at 42 percent ABV (84 proof), and a bottle typically sells for the same price as any premium gin. Buy Boodles British London Dry Gin Online". Proof66 LLC. Produced by Hayman Distillers of Witham, England, it is based on a family recipe from the 1870s.

By all means, keep your lovely bottles on display if you don’t have much room for gin to hold a permanent place in your fridge or freezer. However, don’t let it get too warm, or it might oxidise - it won’t become unsafe to drink, it just won’t taste very nice any more. Unopened gin has a shelf life of several years - or even longer. So long as the bottle or seal isn’t broken, i.e. no air has been getting in, the alcohol will taste exactly the same when you do finally open it as when you bought it. London Dry Gin: The old guard brands mostly distill London Dry-style gin in the UK, although it does not actually have a geographical indicator. The main rules of this designation are that juniper must be the dominant flavor (as it is for all gin) and botanicals must flavor the gin during distillation, with no flavor or color added afterwards. Brands like Beefeater and Tanqueray are classics for a reason, but the world of gin has expanded enormously over the past 20 years as new distilleries tinker with the formula. It’s very unlikely that your gin will go off unless it’s been stored somewhere that has made it get too warm, the seal has been broken, or the opened bottle has been left so long between drinks that the gin has oxidised.

New Western Gin: This is really a catch-all term for newer gins that don’t fit into the previous categories. But the through line is that these gins, while still using juniper as a key ingredient, are flavored with a wide range of botanicals, and often use ones that are grown locally to showcase the flavors of where they are made. More importantly, though, gin should never be served at room temperature! So the essential thing is to either use plenty of ice*, or popping the gin (or your glass) in the fridge or freezer before you serve it. You can also explore the effects of aging on gin—something most gin is not subjected to—with Martin Miller's 9 Moons. This bottling rests the gin in previously used bourbon barrels for nine months to give it a fascinating sweetness of vanilla and oak. I like how my bottles look and there’s no room in my freezer! Does it matter if I keep my gin on a shelf in my kitchen?
