This list makes good use of the Combat Patrol: Death Guard boxset and expands into a solid core that can be a serious mid-range threat. For your shopping list, this adds a Tallyman, a Bloat-Drone, and Blightlord Terminators into the mix, and pretty much all of those will work for you long-term. Expanding from here, you’ll want more plague marines and potentially some Rhinos to move them, and you’ll want to look at more daemon engines as well. This list also gives you some room to expand, with another character or potentially swapping out the Bloat-Drone for a different auxiliary threat (or just add a few more plague marines and do two 5-model squads). Four new 40k Boarding Patrol boxes have been revealed by GW, this time for Adeptus Mechanicus, Daemons, Genestealer Cults , and Death Guard! The Boarding Patrol: Death Guard set provides a relentlessly tough force of Death Guard infantry, perfectly suited to destroying enemies in games of Warhammer 40,000. The models are especially useful in the dense and deadly Boarding Action missions featured in the Arks of Omen series. The kit is cost-effective, offering a great way to expand your army and save money on the individual models. This versatile box provides bodies, ballistics, and big-hitters for you to join the eternal quest to uncover archeotech and fragments of holy STC from the ancient Arks of Omen. Boarding Actions are an excellent way to build small, thematic armies that can’t fill the full-sized battlefields of Warhammer 40,000, such as these Aeldari Corsairs . Prince Yriel of Iyanden leads his Eldritch Raiders into the bowels of a great Ark, filling all three Corsair squads with mid-range troops that can load an ungodly number of power swords into a cool 499 points.

The reason Big Azrael is so good now despite only minor actual changes is that he was already good – Dark Angels have been on a tear lately, which as you may recall I did predict , and a good chunk of those lists have Azrael in them. Dark Angels didn’t need the help, but they got it anyway, because they deserve it, for being the best. I’m actually fine with the relatively minor glow up, because Big Azrael still does the same stuff as before, he’s just slightly better at it. The Death Guard are the doomed 14th Legion of the Adeptus Astartes, a particularly resilient group of trench fighters who were turned to the ruinous powers after undergoing gruesome torture while stranded within the immaterium. Drawn into eternal servitude to Nurgle, the chaos god of death and decay, these space marines underwent a terrible transformation which left their bodies swollen with disease, forever rotting but almost nigh-impossible to kill. Continuing to wage the Long War against their now-hated loyalist foes, their Primarch Mortarion plots invasions from their plague planet within the warp while Nurgle’s champion Typhus roams the galaxy spreading disease and enacting his own devious schemes. A Lord of Virulence leads Boarding Patrol: Death Guard. Alongside him stalk three Deathshroud Terminators and 10 Plague Marines, each a veritable wall of flesh and iron. Worldwide prices have been inferred from similar-priced boxed sets. The Book

Some of the other Boarding Patrols we’ve seen both released and teased have frequently contained up-to-date miniatures from the last few years or even brand-new models altogether, perhaps with an older kit included. On this front, when compared to the other sets, the Drukhari box looks particularly poor.

Boarding Patrol: Drukhari – Contents It’s cool that Vashtorr spent a bunch of time working on his little plan and setting all his cute traps, but he absolutely came to the wrong place to try and run that hustle. You can’t Home Alone the Dark Angels on their own turf, my guy. With the caveat that to actually save money with these boxes, you have to need every model in the box (which I think will hurt the Grey Knights because of Castellan Crowe–if you want him, you probably already have him.), all of these Boarding Patrol boxes are very good value.
