Eight SRAMs were carried internally on a special rotary launcher and 12 SRAMs were mounted on two wing pylons. On 11 February 1958, B-52D (56-0610) crashed short of the runway at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota, due to total loss of power during final approach.
