About this deal

The card has the typical one-HDMI, three-DisplayPort output layout of most modern twin-slot-width cards. Overall, if you discount the memory, the differences between the Arc A750 and the A770 are minute. That hardware parallelism results in the two cards placing very close together, in terms of performance, in most situations, as you will soon see. Stepping up to 1440p Ultra drops the A770's performance by 22% compared to 1080p ultra, while the competing AMD and Nvidia cards lose 29% and 25%, respectively. That drop is also consistent with the Arc A750, so the extra VRAM on the A770 LE isn't really coming into play. Overall, the A770 still averages more than 60 fps, and it's 18% faster than the RTX 3060 and 8% faster than the RX 6650 XT — but still 13% slower than the RX 6700 XT and 11% slower than the RTX 3060 Ti.

Its maximum observed power draw of 191.909W is pretty high for the kind of card the A770 is, but it's not the most egregious offender in that regard. All this power meant that keeping it cool was a struggle, with its maximum observed temperature hitting about 74 ºC. Have a AMD 6000 series and this, A770 for the comparative price of what is can do / process according to a comparsion with with one of steams major gfx test apps. The AMD top range 6950 XT in a 4k test got about 9000 and this got 6500 roughly, So as you can see for price as to what you get is great and a lot of games will run on this absolutely fine. I really don't know why the gaming desktop community ain't catching on. Yes driver may need time, yes i don't know what its like for mining. As for sound the A770 is nearly silent, i here the CPU fan over the card fan for air cooling. The only reason i bought it, is because i once ran a game off of the integrated GFX of an INTEL CPU by accident and noticed "smeg" all difference, so i wanted to see what their offering could do. I am not disappointed in this card all all and just hope it gets the support from the community and company it should have.

Intel's first legitimate discrete GPU in forever

The margin in performance between the Intel Arc series of cards here and the RTX 3060 and RX 6600 XT is actually less at 1400p as opposed to 1080p, but regardless, in AAA titles such as Gears 5, you'll be able to grab an average output of 60fps at 1440p, and 83fps at 1080p, which is solid. Here's the Digital Foundry video review of these important graphics cards. The power connector is an 8-pin and 6-pin combo, so you'll have a pair of cables dangling from the card which may or may not affect the aesthetic of your case, but at least you won't need to worry about a 12VHPWR or 12-pin adapter like you do with Nvidia's RTX 4000-series and 3000-series cards. Among all the cards tested, the Intel Arc A770 was at nearly the bottom of the list with the RX 6700 XT, so the picture for this card might have been very different had it launched three years ago and it had to compete with the RTX 3000-series and RX-6000 series exclusively. In the end, this card performs like a last-gen card, because it is. While the 26 fps average minimum fps at 4K means it's really not playable at that resolution even with XeSS turned on, with settings tweaks, or more modest ray tracing, you could probably bring that up into the low to high 30s, making 4K games playable on this card with ray tracing turned on. According to Gelsinger, Intel heard complaints from gamers about the high prices. “You should be frustrated because you are losing out as a gaming community. And today, we’re fixing that." The specs of the new Intel Arc series GPUs aren't half bad for the price, and bring with them some intriguing features, too. You can see this for yourself in our table below. The A750 and A770 are built on the same GPU die, as well, It measures 406mm2 and is produced on TSMC’s N6 6nm manufacturing process. The difference: The Arc A750’s GPU is partially disabled and doesn’t have quite as much raw power as the one in the Arc A770. But it’s not far off. Where the Arc A770 has 512 Vector Engines, 256 TMUs, and 128 ROPs, the A750 has 448 Vector Engines, 224 TMUs, and 112 ROPs. Intel's Xe HPG architecture inside the Arc A770 introduces a whole other way to arrange the various co-processors that make up a GPU, adding a third, not very easily comparable set of specs to the already head-scratching differences between Nvidia and AMD architectures. Details about the extent of our regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority are available from us on request.

If you think of this situation using Nvidia’s typical GPU nomenclature, the Arc A750 is akin to a non-"Ti" card—where Nvidia's "Ti" moniker indicates some smaller upgrade or upgrades made to existing products—with the Arc A770 being the Ti variant. That's something the RTX 4060 Ti can't manage thanks to its smaller frame buffer (8GB VRAM), and while the 16GB RTX 4060 Ti could theoretically perform better (I have not tested the 16GB so I cannot say for certain), it still has half the memory bus width of the A770, leading to a much lower bandwidth for larger texture files to pass through. I focused mostly on synthetic and gaming benchmarks since this card is overwhelmingly a gaming graphics card. Though it does have some video content creation potential, it's not enough to dethrone Nvidia's 4000-series GPUs, so it isn't a viable rival in that sense and wasn't tested as such. Looking at the individual games again, the A770 gets a clean sweep of the RTX 3060 now, with leads ranging from 6% to as much as 32%. It also basically ties or beats the RX 6650 XT across the suite, trailing by 1% slower in Far Cry 6 and leading by up to 26% (RDR2). Also, note that only Flight Simulator and Total War: Warhammer 3 failed to average 60 fps or more. What's likely happening is that Arc's drivers are becoming more CPU limited at lighter settings, meaning they can't scale as much as the AMD and Nvidia GPUs. This is something Intel has already talked about, how using the integrated graphics drivers as the base for Arc hampered overall performance, and it's something the driver team continues to work on.Intel's Arc series of GPUs has meant that it's now a three horse race as Team Blue looks to provide a formidable alternative to the longstanding dichotomy between AMD and Nvidia's entries that gamers have faced for ages. To help you decide whether they're worth a go, we've rounded up everything you need to know about the Arc A770 and A750, from their price and performance to where you can actually buy them in the US, UK, Canada and Europe. Unleash your imagination and captivate audiences with rich digital content creation using a hyper advanced media engine, augmented by AI and accelerated by Intel® Deep Link technology. Create compelling content, powered by the first graphics card with support for all current leading media formats, and keep yourself up to date with the most advanced AV1 video encode capabilities. As you might expect, given what we've already seen, 1080p medium actually decreases the Arc A770's relative performance. Arc performance improves by 56% compared to 1080p ultra, but the RTX 3060 is 68% faster and the RX 6650 XT is 73% faster. Any of these cards easily handle 1080p medium, but if you have a 144Hz monitor, you might prefer one of the non-Arc cards — at least for the time being. Enter Intel XeSS. When set to "Balanced", XeSS turns out to be a game changer for the A770, getting it an average framerate of 66 fps (with an average minimum of 46 fps) at 1080p, an average of 51 fps (with an average minimum of 38 fps) at 1440p, and an average 33 fps (average minimum 26 fps) at 4K with ray tracing maxed out.
