Despite including some obvious similarities, this rendition of the Batmobile differs substantially from the design in 76052 Batman Classic TV Series - Batcave. The most important variation is undoubtedly their length as the updated rendition is one stud shorter than its predecessor. The change is minor but surprisingly decisive, greatly improving the proportional accuracy. Detaching the Batmobile from this display base reveals an 8x8 dish underneath. This vehicle feels reasonably secure on its base and the integration of pentagonal tiles is excellent, taking advantage of their bevelled edges to create superb texture. Additionally, the contrast between this light bluish grey stand and the Batmobile enhances their appearance together. Pleasingly, that same reverence for the source material is carried over into 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile, and it’s very much to the benefit of both the LEGO set and to anyone collecting LEGO Batman. — Set details — With LEGO Disney Princess sets little builders can bring magical fairy tales to life. These brighter colours become particularly apparent when viewing this model in profile, where the 1x4 curved slopes seem fairly conspicuous. However, the red bands along both flanks look perfect and I appreciate their authentic continuation around each wheel arch.
