About this deal

To last the distance, its preferable to ride with your movements unrestricted. That means having full control and freedom to manoeuvre around the bike to switch riding positions when one gets uncomfortable. After all stitches are done, turn the bag from inside-out, to inside-inside position. You know, so the bag looks normal - something like the second picture. The biggest issue with seat bags is sway. The larger the bag, the more tail wag you can feel on the bike. Some companies offer a rigid frame that clamps to the seat’s rails. This coordinates with dropper posts and helps stabilize the load and your ride. In general, the more technical the ride, the smaller the seat bag should be. Size is important for frame bags. Most frame bags come in multiple sizes to fit different frame sizes. Some frame bags only come in one size, and those are less likely to fit your frame. Measure the dimensions of your bike’s inner triangle and compare those measurements to the dimensions of a frame bag. Choose a frame bag size that is slightly small or the same size as the internal dimensions of your bike’s center triangle. Fold it and shape it to the triangle, while keeping the bag inside-out like in first photo, then sew two narrow edges (marked on the second diagram) - I kept a hole in one ridge, for cable management (also marked on the diagram).

Are there specific frame bag options designed for different frame sizes, or do they come in a one-size-fits-all design?Visibility features: Extra-visible reflector strips or sewn reflector films provide better visibility and safety in traffic

Visibility – As a matter of safety, reflective parts on bag are a plus when riding at night to improve visibility levels. High visibility gear is proven to reduce risk of accident over not being worn in dark conditions. I've added a carabiner for key transportation. They will hang in the bag in one place, so I'll always have them in my reach. After you’ve cleaned and dried your frame bag, store it with the rest of your bike gear. You can store most frame bags flat, but don’t crease any stiffening materials built into your frame bag. The benefit is that they keep your kit dry and can fit between the drops of a road bike. Larger loads can fit under flat bars. The key is to find a system that fits the bars without crushing the bike’s cables.

If this is your first frame bag, we don’t think it’s necessary to get one custom-made. If you want to go that route, there’s lots of good information here on what to look for in a frame bag, custom or not.

What differentiates the Road Series from the rest of the crop are the proprietary lightweight rubber bands that strap the bags to the bike. Velcro straps are tried and true, but the hook-and-loop system can pull at Lycra, damaging an expensive kit. Roswheel ships all Road Series bags with an assortment of “fast-fix” rubber bands that allow bags to bungee around nearly every size frame. Frame bags must be durable, especially on the spots where they constantly rub on the frame. Most full-frame bags have extra durable materials along at least the bottom corners, if not all sides of the bag. Now, as you've finished the inside job and all sewing that was easier to be done with flat construction, it's time to have fun origami-style and make the bag 3-dimentional :)

Half-frame bags ride just under the top tube and can fit a 2L bladder or a weekend’s cache of food. Depending on the frame size, they can allow enough space to still access two water bottles bolted to the frame. The top tube runs along the top of the bike. This part of the bike is what you have to step over to get on the bike and the part you straddle when standing up while you’re stopped with a bike underneath you. Seat tube Are frame bags aerodynamically efficient, and do they impact the overall bike's speed and performance significantly?Slim profile – Ideally you’d want the mountain bike triangle bag to be as unrestricting to your legs as possible. Slim profile ensures it won’t get in the way of your pedalling by rubbing against your legs. Measure two identical pieces of the stronger material, and measure one piece of the lining (If you choose to use it like I did). Plan where the zipper will go (and on which bike side you want it - I chose my right side) - it will cause the placement of the "ceiling" part. IMPORTANT: do not cut anything unless you are perfectly sure it's all good! It's better to measure few times than cut and loose all the materials because of a bad measurement. The seat tube is the tube that your bike’s seat post fits into. The seat tube connects to the rear end of your top tube at close to a right angle. Down tube So I've decided to build my own bag from the scratch. You know, if you want to have something done well - do it yourself ;)
