About this deal

This tale was inspired by the traditional Russian fairy tale, ‘The Snow Maiden’. While written for readers aged 9-12, it is the kind of book that will certainly appeal to older readers who enjoy folk and fairy tales. I'm not sure why or what I thought it was -I just 'passed-it-over'. Well, for what's it's worth...I am more than pleasantly surprised to discover how MUCH I LIKE THIS BOOK.

THE SNOW CHILD by EOWYN IVEY is a wonderful, heartwarming, sad, and beautifully told bewitching tale based on a Russian fairytale titled "Snegurochka", The Snow Maiden a girl who is believed to be half-human and half made of snow. This enchanting story had us both asking ourselves was there something magical happening here or not? Oh, but for us, there definitely was something magical about IVEY’S writing style here. Five-year-old Amaya disappears during a Twelfth Night parade inMálaga, Spain, leaving her parents,Ana and Álvaro, absolutely distraught. The Snow Girl begins on Jan. 5, 2010, the day Amaya went missing. At one point during the parade, Amaya’s dad,Álvaro, takes her to buy a balloon. The man selling them is sketchy and attempts to con Álvaro, causing him to take his eyes off Amaya for just one second to count the money. In that brief moment, Amaya wanders away from him, and someone abducts her.CCTV cameras show Amaya being led out of the square by a stranger, which leads every newscast in the city. It’s the big story at the local paper, the Sur, and the new intern, Miren Rojo (Milena Smit) wants to work on it, feeling she has particular insight. Eduardo (José Coronado), a veteran journalist who helped her get the internship, thinks it’ll be good training, but the editor says no. Miren comes with him, anyway; he shows her a police file that shows the girl’s raincoat was found, and also the name of the lead detective: Inspector Belén Millán (Aixa Villagrán).

La solución suele estar a la vista, esperando paciente a que alguien la descubra cubierta de polvo.” Another child gone from their lives. It was a possibility she could not bear. She wound herself tightly, as if within her girdled ribs she could contain all possibilities, all futures and all deaths. Perhaps if she held herself just right. Maybe if she knew what would be or could be. Or if she wished with enough heart. If only she could believe.” The Snow Girl is the new Netflix series released in January 2023, based on the best-selling book of the same name by Spanish writer Javier Castillo. The story adheres quite closely to the book and maintains all the qualities of a well-done thriller. The plot is one of the most chilling: the disappearance of a girl and the frantic search for her by a journalist with a dark past. But there are some significant differences between the series and the book that are interesting to delve into. In this article, we will provide a summary of the plot, the story, and the ending explained, to satisfy the viewers’ curiosity. Sophie Anderson's latest book The Snow Girl, areimagining of the traditional Russian fairytale The Snow Maiden,is a lyrical tale of friendship, belonging and bravery. Painting wonderful pictures, it's a book that children of all ages will enjoy snuggling up to read this winter. Read on for insights into Sophie's inspiration for the book, and why she thinks fairy tales are still so important for young readers today. What are your Eastern European inspirations?

Miren hangs around the periphery of the press conference so she can talk to Ana one-on-one after all is said and done. She gives Ana her number, promising to keep anything they say off the record unless Ana consents to publish.
