The Freddy Files Description: "Ten years prior to the events of the novel, five children from Hurricane went missing, including Charlie's childhood friend Michael. Their disappearance is tied to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, but their bodies have never been found, nor their kidnapper has been caught." There has been a lot of transitions from video game to literature. Many were bizarre choices. Were people really interested in the stories behind Halo? Didn’t it mainly exist for multiplayer? Even video games that had potential are mostly better off as pulp adventures. Because Charlie is able to regain consciousness after being crushed inside Twisted Freddy and repaired by Jen, it would appear that Charlie's soul persists in spite of immense damage caused to her robot body, so long as the doll itself is not destroyed. In the event of severe damage though, she does appear to lose consciousness. Following the ceremony to honor Michael, John tells Charlie that he remembers seeing a person in a yellow Freddy Fazbear costume on the day of Michael's death, suspecting that this stranger was the murderer. That night, Charlie and her friends return to the restaurant, further accompanied by friends Marla, Lamar, and Marla's younger half-brother Jason. While playing an impulsive game of hide-and-seek with John, Charlie encounters one of the animatronics, Foxy the Pirate, who she was terrified of as a child. Recalling suppressed details of her childhood, Charlie remembers that Henry used to own another restaurant in New Harmony, named Fredbear's Family Diner, featuring two animatronics: yellow versions of Freddy and Bonnie. It’s a decent novel. It avoids the pitfalls of a transition. The story stands on its own and it’s written in a way that’s accessible for newcomers. It’s meant to be a stand-alone horror story and doesn’t have fanservice. The themes of the franchise dominate it – childhood and growing up – instead of the stereotypical jumpscares. The novel reads too much like a first-timer. Cawthon needed help from someone more professional. Still, it’s good to see him stretching himself. So far, he’s pushing the franchise in new direction. If it fails, at least it’s not because of a re-hash.

Not Quite Dead: As it turns out, being crushed by Twisted Freddy was not the end of her. She returned in The Fourth Closet to put a permanent end to Afton's plans and to stop Elizabeth's impersonation of herself. Aunt Jen teaches Charlie self-reliance and safety, not wanting her to suffer the same fate as her father. While not very close, the two still cared for one another. They had a falling out before the events of The Twisted Ones on Charlie's birthday when she said that she wanted to return to Hurricane. Frank, Allegra (December 14, 2015). Elizabeth Afton / Circus BabyThe novel versions of Circus Baby and William Afton's daughter, who have also merged into one entity. The Power of Love: Charlie, if Elizabeth's words are true, doesn't have a human soul. What gave her a soul, and life with it, was Henry's love of his daughter, and his grief over her loss.Holy crap, dat villain!!!! He was SO FREAKING sinister!! I couldn’t believe it when they actually brought in SPRINGTRAP! I had no idea he was going be a part of this story--I didn’t even think we were going to see the villain at all since we don’t necessarily see him in the games, but it turns out he was a huge part of the plot. Also, damn it, he was the freakiest villain concerned with real life crimes that I have ever read! There’s a particular scene in the climax where the cast of teenagers are trying to interrogate him but he can’t talk without the Springtrap head on!! Once they put it on his voice changes and the most disturbing explanation for his murderous actions plays out and you HATE him all the more. Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Done simultaneously to herself and Baby (Elizabeth) in a Taking You with Me moment. Charlie in the books does not possess the Puppet, and in the novel trilogy, the Puppet never existed, but rather some speculate that Henry's agony embedded itself inside Ella, creating an almost perfect copy of Charlie. The next day, Charlie and her friends attend the scholarship's launch ceremony at their old school, where Michael's parents give a speech about him. Afterwards, John confesses to Charlie that he remembers seeing a strange person in a yellow Freddy costume at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza on the day of Michael's death, and he now suspects this person was Michael's killer.

Charlie and Jessica seem to be good friends, and they get along great, they are always there for each other's support whenever they encounter danger. I loved the book so much, but there were a few parts where I was confused. Like there was a part where John and Charlie talk about her early childhood. She's getting these memories of having a brother and stuff like that, well. . . what happened to him? They moved and he wasn't around any more so I'm wondering did something kill him, someone, uh, what? I have an idea but it's never really explained. Also, Charlies mom just takes after after her fathers death and Charlie grows up with her aunt and that's about it. Her mom is still around but not around, but whatever! It was so much creepy fun and some really sad, sad stuff came out in the wash at then end! Henry's other child, Sammy, was abducted at his other restaurant, Fredbear's Family Diner. In the end, this event caused a divorce between him and his wife as well as shutting down the restaurant and moving away from New Harmony to Hurricane. He spent his days building robots and other mechanisms, both for his business and his daughter. It is later revealed that Henry committed suicide sometime after Michael's disappearance, though in a rather unusual means as he had one of his robots kill him. Charlie in the books does not possess the Puppet, and in the novel trilogy, Puppet never existed, but rather some speculate that Charlie's real soul seems to be embedded into Ella. This book takes place in some apparent AU where teenagers, fresh from a memorial of a friend who went missing as a child, decide to break into the old family haunt (pun is so intended) WHERE he went missing because hey, that's fun right?

It is now one of the most abundant of New Zealand birds and will be found everywhere excepting open grassland habitats. They were at first welcomed by the early settlers and were called the “blight bird” as they soon set to work in gardens and orchards and cleared out the aphides and scale insects including the very obnoxious woolly aphids that infested apple trees, but they soon outstayed their welcome when it was discovered the damage they could do to fruit crops. As Buller said, “In our gardens and orchards it regales itself freely on plums, cherries, figs, gooseberries, and other soft fruits; but it far more than compensates for this petty pilfering by the wholesale war it carries on against the various insects that affect our fruit trees and vegetables”. The setting then changes to the present, showing Charlie arriving in the city of Hurricane to attend the launch of a scholarship dedicated to her old friend Michael Brooks, who went missing a decade earlier due to an incident at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. After arriving in the city, Charlie arrives at her old home, where she finds her three old toys, Theodore, Stanley, and Ella. She then recalls seeing a disturbing figure with "silver eyes" when she was a child. After spending a couple of hours she becomes uncomfortable due to unpleasant memories she faced beforehand. After leaving the house, she goes to meet her friends at a nearby diner. She meets up with some of her childhood friends, Jessica, John, and Carlton. They eventually get talking about Freddy's and all of the great memories they’ve had. Carlton tells the group that there was an attempt to build a shopping mall in the restaurant's place but was left incomplete. Charlie is still eager to go, even if it reminded her of her past memories. She reunites with her childhood friends Jessica, John, Carlton, Marla, Lamar, and Marla's little brother Jason. They decide to revisit the place where Michael died: Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a family restaurant Charlie's father once owned. Now an incomplete shopping mall has been built in the restaurant's place, but upon further investigation, the friends discover the restaurant is still standing and that the mall had been built around it. Cawthon, Scott (2017). Five Nights at Freddy's: The Freddy Files (1sted.). New York, New York: Scholastic Inc. p.60. ISBN 978-1-338-21441-3– via Internet Archive. The Freddy’s franchise has potential. The game is like no other. It’s not just scary but brilliantly designed and deeply psychological. Shitty YouTubers couldn’t ruin what is one of the most original games, the kind that doesn’t rely on advance technology. It’s a prime example of how video games can be an art. So he spends a lot of time with these characters, having them interact and show us their relationship. Sometimes it seems like it’s just postponing the moment the slasher comes alive. Then you notice Cawthon lingers on it for too long, The Protagonist: Of the novel trilogy, though she's presumed dead for the first few chapters of The Fourth Closet until she is discovered miraculously alive due to being an android. Subverted. Curiosity gets the better of Charlie at the end of The Twisted Ones, and she ends up being accosted and seemingly crushed to death by Twisted Freddy. A woman resembling her shows up at the diner while her friends are mourning, but it's left ambiguous whether it's her. The Fourth Closet reveals that the girl at the end of The Twisted Ones is actually William’s daughter, Elizabeth Afton posing as her, using her adult body to take on her appearance. Charlie herself, however, is revealed to still be alive and under Aunt Jen's protection owing to her nature as an android. Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Carlton and Jason. Carlton is known for cruel pranks and Jason is lazy, snarky and likes annoying his sister, but they still care for their friends.

The truth is that after a while lore can become so dense that there isn't room for a story anymore. Another truth is that what makes for a good game doesn't necessarily make for a good book. Sometimes a timeline gets so full that the only way to tell a real story is have the story set in a different timeline, an alternate universe, a different location, or perhaps from a vantage point that isn't entirely what it appears to be. - Scott Cawthon, Steam - December 17, 2015 @ 9:06 PMThe Pizzeria [ ] The Diner [ ] The Return [ ] The Kidnapping [ ] The Rescue [ ] The Finale [ ] Major characters [ ] But something went wrong. It is later revealed that Michael's spirit, along with the other victims, inhabit the animatronics in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Specifically, Michael's soul resides in the yellow Freddy suit that was used at Fredbear's Family Diner.
