The following is a list of some of the early Hadith collectors who specialized in collecting and compiling sīra and maghāzī reports:

Due to its unique origin, the commentators note that this verse has a special status within the poem: As far as the meaning of the Seerah of the Prophet is concerned, it is the life of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, his interaction and behavior with his companions and his family members, his practice in his affairs as a leader of Muslims and head of an Islamic State, his dealings with non-Muslims both in the state of peace and war and his characteristics and mannerism. In a nutshell, any aspect or fact that is related to the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is part of the Seerah of the Prophet. The Seerah of the Prophet (S), or, his biography, has filled many volumes. The question is: how do we make that history accessible and interesting for children today? Shaykh Abdullah dedicated twelve years to this endeavor, and after numerous revisions, he produced the “Seerah Song”, which was ultimately sung by the renowned nasheed artist Zain Bhikha. This epic poem details the characteristics of Rasulullah (S) and is meant to inspire a deep love for him.

Palestine: Victory Is Already Here!

Later sources claiming to know more about the time of Muhammad than earlier ones. Scholar Patricia Crone found a pattern, where the farther a commentary was removed in time from the life of Muhammad and the events in the Quran, the more information it provided, despite the fact it depended on the earlier sources for its content. Crone attributed this phenomenon to storytellers' embellishment. As this is a special series for new converts to learn about Islam in a comprehensive way through learning the Seerah (Biography of Prophet Muhammad) in a gradual chronological way, we will add a few more resources of other areas of Islamic knowledge in each part of the Seerah at the end of each article as extra learning resources.

This powerful and beautiful supplication is a reminder that dua is the weapon of a believer. Allah immediately responded to the Prophet’s supplication and two things happened. A Gift of GrapesNow, let’s talk about some important reasons and benefits of studying the Seerah of Rasulullah ﷺ. 1. Knowing the History of Islam

Studying seerah is a source of strengthening the Faith. Through studying seerah we can understand the stories of the nations that passed before us. The seerah of the Prophet (PBUH) relates these stories with a full explanation. Why is it important for us to deeply love the Rasulullah, meaning that we relate to and look up to him? To contextualize the power of this love, Shaykh Abdullah shares an image from one of his visits to New Delhi. Standing outside the historical Jamia mosque, he noticed a small shop that sells music. Playing in the shop was a Qawwali , a type of traditional song that sings praises and love for the Prophet (S). The power of revelations made Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions (RA) spiritually strong, so they established a peaceful Islamic State in just 23 years. Through Seerah, we can learn how he guided the Ummah to greatness. Similarly, Shaykh Abdullah shares that the Prophet (S) is the most important role model for all of mankind in that he experienced a life of trials and tribulations just so we can relate to and learn from him. Rather than placing the example of his Iife on an unreachable pedestal, we must shift our focus of the Prophet (S) to one shere he is someone we can emulate and learn from. What’s the Point of Reciting Quran in Arabic if I Don’t Understand it? I’ll Just Go for Translation!” Studying the Seerah gives Muslims insights into the Prophet’s ﷺ character, his teachings, and the context in which the Quran was revealed. It serves as a guide for Muslims on how to live according to the teachings of Islam.

Seerah is there to raise your Imaan! Allah reminds the prophet in the Qur’an of the stories of the prophets of the past— He does this to increase his Imaan and the same applies to you! Allah says: And all we relate to you of the accounts of the messengers is to strengthen your heart therewith; and in this has come to you the truth and an admonition, and a reminder to the believers. [ Qur’an, 11:120] The Sirah provides a context to these revelations. It will help you understand when and why certain verses of the Quran were revealed. So, you can easily relate the Quranic verses and hadiths with the life of the Prophet ﷺ. 3. Increasing Our Love to Allah’s Messenger ﷺAnother important lesson from the Qur'an is that Allah is telling the Prophet the stories of the previous prophets so that his heart attains affirmation, increases optimism, and increases iman. So, likewise, our iman goes up when we study the life and times of the prophets. It will show you how he lived before becoming a prophet, how he spread the message after receiving revelations, and the obstacles he faced along with his achievements. When you read about his life, you can get a summary of what happened during that time. This way, the Sirah helps you understand the history of Islam. 2. Understanding the Quran and Sunnah It means by studying the Seerah of the Prophet (PBUH) we can find many excellent attributes and good manners, which affirms that Seerah itself is a miracle. You will not understand this verse until you understand the Seerah. When and why it was revealed, and the context of its revelation. The Prophet (ﷺ) was facing persecution, and he was wondering, why is Allah not helping him? Why is the Quran not coming? For weeks, no Qur'an came down, and the Prophet (ﷺ) began thinking maybe his Lord had abandoned him. Then Allah reveals these verses as a sign of optimism.
