About this deal

The Partner (1997) is a legal/thriller novel by American author John Grisham. [1] It was Grisham's eighth novel. Wonderful," he said, completely unsurprised. "Why don't you come on up to my office, then, and I'll fill you in on the deal." There is A LOT of sex in this book. The first two instances of sex don't even involved penetration. It was great. It is sex for sex but then it evolves to more emotional sex, the FMC even cries after they have sex once.

The series does a brilliant job of creating speculation among viewers throughout the season through its streamy love triangle, resulting in a curiosity to know who Ingrid might end up with in the end — not just of the season, but the show. As the book ends, the pair are still in the early stages of their relationship but are in a really good place which suggests Tim might be endgame if introduced in the series. Many people think she's a shoo-in because she has a few things going for her. For one thing she's a female. For another, she's Asian. The firm has never appointed a minority female as a partner in Mergers & Acquisitions, where Ingrid works and the pressure is really on the partners to have diversity. With Ingrid they get a "two-fer".The only reason this book wasn’t a 5 star read to me is because I felt the ending dragged on a tiny bit too long and yeah I would of liked a bit more romance. I mean who doesn’t lol. That’s really my only complaints. Chances to shine in front of Marty Adler didn’t come along every day, especially not mere weeks before your partnership vote. “I’d love to be on your team, Marty.”

Also - the AMAZING friendship with Perdie and Lucille. I loved their love for each other truly. Everyone needs a friendship like that in their lives. Taylor Swift Made A Surprise Appearance On ‘Dancing With The Stars’ For This Week’s "Eras" Themed Night: “Sending You Guys All My Love”One of my favorite characters, albeit minor, is Ingrid’s mother, a Chinese immigrant who reminded me of nothing more than a Jewish mother. I can say that. I’m sure she’s terribly anti-PC, but Ingrid-ah’s mom, who initials her on all phone messages with “Love, Mom,” is too cute not to mention. New York City, the lifestyle of the young professionals, including the friendship, dating, and real estate, are also well described. So," said Adler, eyes still closed, as you've probably heard through the grapevine, we've just been retained by SunCorp, the energy conglomerate based in Houston." I took another bite of lasagna. This brand of naked, unabashed partner worship amused me. We were senior associates, on the verge of our own partnership votes, and yet we still accorded the partners a distant, irreverent kind of celebrity—sort of like the way kids talked about their teachers in junior high. Partners walked among us. We worked alongside them. We talked to them every day. But despite this charade of equal footing, they remained shrouded in mystery. They were beings to be scrutinized and revered, hated and loved—and gossiped about. We were all expected to call them by their first names to their faces, but in private, we bandied about their last names only, as if they were baseball trading cards. Southern Charm' Star Olivia Flowers Shades 'RHOBH' Star Crystal Kung Minkoff After BravoCon: "I Thought She Was Rude"

This book is VERY fast paced. Wynn's writing made me think of Gilmore Girls, insomuch as you gotta keep up. Things are happening and there is no time to delay. That doesn’t mean the now nearly-decade-old novel was completely true to contemporary experiences Lee is familiar with. Scenes like the cringeworthy retreat sequence (in which a racially charged stand-up set goes horribly wrong) had to be updated from their place in the book.P.S. There is the death of a pet in this book, which made me cry and then kiss my dog. I know it can be difficult for some to read, so I’m mentioning it here.

The FMC- Perdie is MESSY AF. She's self centered but determined. She blows people off but also cares deeply. Think Naomi from YDEO but slightly worse. Behind Helen Wan's wit and sparkling prose is a poignant and at times, painfully honest tale of loyalty, ambition and sacrifice. Funny, fragile, sometimes bold, often unsure, Ingrid Yung is one of those unforgettable heroines that you actually miss, like a dear friend, when the story's over.”— Ann Leary, New York Times bestselling author of The Good House Realizing this is a bit sad as we hope that things have changed for women in big business and in the world at large. They have certainly improved, but we are still far from perfect gender equality in the workforce and we are breaking down the stereotypical expectations that people have of women.O enredo gira em torno de Ingrid Yung, uma advogada inteligente e dedicada de descendência asiática, única associada mulher de um dos maiores escritórios de advocacia de Nova York, que trabalha incansavelmente há oito anos para se tornar a primeira sócia mulher da Parsons e Valentine's. Here was another thing about all the male attorneys I worked with. They all called me by my last name, Yung, instead of by my first name, Ingrid. I wondered if some of them even knew what my first name was. But I didn’t mind this. I’d been in the corporate world long enough to know that it was a good sign. When they felt comfortable enough to swear like sailors around me, I knew I was finally in. It’s not just Ingrid who gets left in a precarious position at the end of the season. Rachel and Justin break up since it becomes clear that Rachel isn’t ready for a serious relationship with him and can’t give him the stability he needs. However, it’s not all bad news since she does sign-up for a playwriting course to pursue her new passion for writing.
