This is my absolutely favorite series ever. Like all great films, they have to start with an engaging and heroic story and excellent adaptive script. "The Last Kingdom" novels by Bernard Cornwell and script adaptation by Stephen Butchard excel on both counts. The dialogue is smooth and engaging and unique to each of the great characters portrayed. The pace is hypnotic. The temptation to binge is irresistible. In my opinion, the series has achieved the almost impossible task of producing a film that is as good as the original books.
