About this deal

Here are some photo's of the wall after all the paint has been taken off. The walls are not in bad condition apart from what I have snapped for you here, so if what appears in the image can be prepped without skimming, then I am confident I can go down that path, as the walls don't have alot of damage other than what I have shown here. The most important parameter to consider when selecting a road binder is that it suits the soil type. Whether the soil consists of fine-, or coarse-grained particles or has a high content of clay, silicates or organic content are determinants in the selection. In addition, weather conditions and seasonal variations, estimated traffic load, compliance with local laws and regulations and sustainability of the binder all influence the choice of road stabilising agent. Some commonly used stabilising agents are listed below. Each can be used on its own, or in combination with others to treat the road base material. For a more extensive guide on these and other road stabilisation additives, see this guide. When making a stabilised road base, you should expect to see an improved road. By strengthening the foundation, the load-bearing capacity is improved as well as the resistance to stress and strain that could result in road deformations and loss of road materials. Proper selection and use of a binder, combined with good compaction and drainage will reduce the infiltration of water, mitigating the effects of seasonal variations and freeze-thaw cycles.

When it comes to painting any exterior wall, we highly recommend opting for the Emperor Paint range. Emperor Masonry Paint is the most advanced masonry paint available in the UK thanks to its super hydrophobic technology. It is not only water repellent but it is highly breathable, self-cleaning, heat retaining & verified by the Energy Saving Trust. Emperor has undergone independent scientific testing through a 25 year accelerated weathering process. After 25 years of heavy weathering, a wall painted with Emperor Masonry Paint showed no signs of deterioration in aesthetic appeal or performance. This is why Emperor Paint offer a lifetime guarantee on their waterproof masonry paint & masonry cream. When using a waterproofing treatment of any kind, the most important aspect is breathability. Breathability refers to the ability for water vapour to naturally breathe through the surface without being trapped. If a surface cannot naturally breathe, any moisture present within the material will become trapped. In the case of exterior walls, this leads to very high-moisture levels within the wall that over time will lead to the same damp & damp that is caused by water absorbing into the wall.

If this be the case then scrape off any loos paint, allow to dry out over a period of a few weeks and paint again. You may well find this is an ongoing process or it may be isolated to one or two problem areas. L.-G. Milroy, T. N. Grossmann, S. Hennig, L. Brunsveld and C. Ottmann, Chem. It's just the time element, or more to the point, time versus money - skilled labour don't come cheap If a significant stabilisation response can be achieved in these soils, chemical stabilisation of non-cohesive, coarse-grained soils, soils with more than 50% by weight coarser than 75 μm, is also advantageous. When compared to the strength of the untreated material, the strength enhancement in this instance may be substantially larger—more than ten times higher. The most common methods of soil stabilization for roads include:Dry and chalky areas can sometimes be primed with a watered down coat. But if the area has already been treated with a stabilising solution I would paint over this with unthinned masonry paint. Whilst you may be eager to repaint the areas where the paint is coming off, chances are, there’s more to come. My advice would be to wait a few months and reassess. At least then the process of removing the paint will be much easier. At that point you’ll want to rub down the entire surface, use a stabiliser and then paint as normal. When you have removed as much loose material as possible, treat the worst affected areas with a stabilising solution which will bind any reaming loose martial, presenting you with a solid surface on which to paint. Only do this on the very worst affected areas though. I personally wouldn’t use it unless the sand was really loose or the render is brittle. I do know lots of painters that do use it for these reasons on new render – almost like a mist coat and also for some other reasons. But I believe this can affect the coverage. P. J. de Vink, S. A. All of these side effects of water entering through the external wall of a house can only be resolved by preventing the porous exterior wall from absorbing moisture. Unfortunately, standard masonry paints do not prevent this absorption as they are most often acrylic-based masonry paint. Acrylic masonry paints can actually absorb some moisture, which is why they are often referred to as 'weatherproof' or 'weather resistant', rather than waterproof. For a masonry paint to be waterproof, it must be water repellent. Portland cement often provides the alkalinity to activate and accelerate these capabilities because ggbs on its own only has slow cementitious properties. The alkali required for activation can alternatively be obtained from lime. Sulfides, as well as sulphates, are capable of causing disruptive expansion in stabilised soils, according to laboratory and field studies. Combinations of ggbs and lime have been demonstrated to be useful and efficient solutions for stabilising soil and to offer technical advantages. The integration of ggbs, in particular, is quite effective at preventing the expansion brought on by the presence of sulphate or sulphide in soil. Stabilisation with geotextiles Once TransFix treated, the stabilised sample can be transferred to smaller test tubes to prevent repetitive cooling and warming thereby preserving the phenotypic profile of the sample. Note c: Studies have shown that moderately high levels of haemolysis, icterus and lipemia do not affect the results. Grossly haemolysed samples should be rejected. Products for Stabilising Blood

Normally, masonry walls can be primed with a thinned solution of water-based masonry paint. But, sometimes, the surface can be loose and/or powdery and this can cause problems. Realistically and with the right technique, materials and time, you can pretty much prepare any surface in poor condition and bring it up to a "like new" condition Would you recommend the use of sandtex stabilising solution as a primer to prevent the paint failure?? A stabilising solution & a primer serve the same purpose meaning there is no need to apply both a stabilising solution & a primer. When To Use A Primer Or Stabilising SolutionThe Bond-It Stabilising Solution is also a great, ready-to-use product that will make sure to prepare your walls for paintwork. This product is incredibly versatile, as it works on a variety of surfaces including concrete, cement, plaster, plasterboard, renders, pebble dash and MDF. Keep in mind to apply this product only in dry weather, above 5°C. It’s not just exterior masonry that can benefit from stabilising solution. Fortunately, there are options for interior surfaces too. Leukaemia is a malignant progressive disease where bone marrow and other blood-forming organs produce increased numbers of immature or abnormal leucocytes. Each class of leucocytes express a unique combination of antigens on the cell surface (CD markers). A pathological cell may express more or less of a particular marker than a healthy cell, or additional CD markers. In the session for COP28 in Dubai, we have our own session on climate change.
