About this deal

I had to turn my amp down about 30% - the dac is providing a significantly stronger output signal than my PC was, I presume this results in less distortion introduced by the power amp. For speakers, I am currently using the Edifier R2000DB, and I also used them with the Mitchell Acoustics uStream One. For my headset, I use the EPOS Sennheiser GSP 601. more clarity at all volumes i would normally listen at, absolutely no 'hiss' of any sort when there's no sound playing.

fancy processing features - the crystalizer i quite enjoy for a lot of music, take it or leave it, its a nice to have. WaveStudio maakt het beheren en uitvoeren van al uw bewerkingstaken gemakkelijk. Met WaveStudio kunt u:

The G6 is a far less complicated interface that offers an adjustable game/voice knob and little else. This isn’t as bad as it sounds, as much as some might enjoy micromanaging their sound every few minutes, others might like to put it on a preset and forget about it. For those that enjoy a less convoluted experience, the G6 is an excellent alternative that weighs and takes up less space than either of its competitors. Most digital devices like computers, smartphones, and gaming consoles have built-in DACs. However, these are often not optimized for high-quality sound production, which is where external DACs come in. They do a better job at preserving the quality and depth of the original recording, providing an enhanced audio experience that’s richer and more immersive. As a fitness fanatic who loves running and cycling, I also have a keen interest in fitness-related technology, and I take every opportunity to cover this niche on my blog. My diverse interests allow me to bring a unique perspective to tech blogging, merging lifestyle, fitness, and the latest tech trends.

This has outputs for 5.1, which is quite rare for an external soundcard/DAC I think it is only Creative that have this functionality, with this, the X3 and the X7. I don’t have a 5.1 active speaker arrangement in my office so I was unable to test this. There are 7 I/O connectors on the X4. This means it’s now much easier to connect multiple audio devices. From external microphones and headsets to platforms like your PC, Mac, gaming consoles, and even your multi-channel speaker systems—this converts your desktop setup into an audio hub. Creative Sound Blaster X4 Review – Hi-res 7.1 External USB DAC and AMP Sound Card I am James, a UK-based tech enthusiast and the creative mind behind Mighty Gadget, which I’ve proudly run since 2007. Passionate about all things technology, my expertise spans from computers and networking, to mobile, wearables, and smart home devices. The G6 also has its own minor amount of LED lighting in the X (you can customize the color through the app) on the top of the device as well as an illuminated volume wheel so you can adjust it regardless of how well lit your environment is. The G6 is the smallest product by far, weighing just a hair over 5 ounces and taking up ‎4.37 x 0.94 x 2.76 inches of space. Thankfully I had already mapped my head from my Creative headphones review, so I was able to use this profile for the X4.

At the same time, activate Smart Volume inside the software to speak normally without having to shout or whisper—Smart Volume automatically adjusts the loudness of your voice to maintain a consistent volume throughout the conversation, no matter where your microphone (both external and on headset) is angled towards. The SPDIF out and 'blending' of volumes between voice chat and other audio is absolutely fantastic feature - games/voices volumes are always something I'm trying to fiddle with, this simplifies that down to just turning the knob Select the discovered Sound Blaster X4 from the ‘Available Wireless SXFI Devices' list. The LED ring of Volume Knob on the Sound Blaster X4 will blink in white.

A DAC is typically going to sit somewhere on a desk or entertainment hutch and is most efficient when it doesn’t further clutter a surface that is prone to having a few items on it as is. The overall design is going to be optimized to make adjusting volume settings (along with several other options) relatively painless, especially since these products are designed with competitive gaming in mind. None of these products are water-resistant and should be kept away from nearby liquids. As much as I like the app free experience of the FIIO, the Creative App allows better control of how things sound. I can bypass software processing all together or tweak things to my liking with the acoustic engine. Verdict – The G6 for pure audio quality edges out the competition, though all three products are very close to one another in this category. The GC7, unlike the other options, boasts that every feature it comes with can be used across all platforms. This means that regardless of if you are on a multi-screen computer or a Nintendo switch you can utilize Virtual 7.1, Dolby Digital, Voice Changers, Game to Voice volume adjustment, different audio modes, and more. This is nice considering several Creative DACs have received complaints about not being compatible with certain systems in the ways consumers wished they would be. This requires an additional app to be installed on your mobile, which is needed because you need to use the camera on your phone for head mapping.Playstation users (both four and five) will not be able to use direct mode or the Sound Blaster command software. Xbox will be unable to use game/voice adjustment, sidetone (allows you to hear yourself through your microphone), direct mode, and the Sound Blaster command software. I am a big fan of volume dials, giving you easy control over your volume, and this is one of the reasons why I returned the Sound BlasterX G6in favour of my FiiO K5 Pro, because of the big knob. Just like the X3, this has a nice large easy to access volume dial that you can press to mute. Again, if using via USB this will integrate with the system volume. It’s not exactly a secret that these products are geared towards hardcore gaming enthusiasts, though an audiophile could in theory get a good amount of play out of them. Depending on which console or operating system you use in conjunction with these products, your list of features will vary wildly.

I predominantly use speakers for my day to day use, especially if I am just listening to music while I work. I will switch to a headset for gaming that involves chat and then of course, the inevitable zoom calls. These products are all sufficient in what they were meant to do, but unfortunately, if you are a consumer looking for a product to use with a console or Mac platform, you are limited in options. Because of this, for non-Windows users, you should absolutely go with the GC7. Otherwise, it comes down to personal taste, though it should be said the G6 does offer the best sound among the three products. The X4 is ideal for PC gamers looking for a small, innocuous piece of tech that gets results. The X4 has two 3.5mm inputs for the microphone and headset, optical in/out, line in/out, and an interesting LED feature of the volume knob. Simply speaking, the light in the middle changes from green, blue, and orange depending on which source has the highest amount of emphasis, which is very unique and thoughtfully designed.spacial audio effects - this is absolutely amazing, it took a bit of getting used to, but it works really well Ideally, you want a Super X-Fi certified pair of headphones to make the most of the sound processing, but there is quite a large range of compatible headphone profiles within the app. Yes, the GC7 boasts universal compatibility across all platforms, making it a great choice for those who use different systems or want more flexibility with their DAC. Why does the Sound Blaster GC7 cost more than the other two options?
