About this deal

I would wear Midnight Rain exclusively as a night-time fragrance on a mild Summer's night. Paired with some sexy attire and a pair of heels, this fragrance has some serious potential. It's quite a seductive fragrance, especially towards the base where it begins to smell sweet and creamy. La Prairie is a Swiss cosmetics company first associated with the famed Clinique La Prairie, which was founded in 1931. The Clinique was a pioneer in the treatment and revitalization of skin. The line of cosmetics and skin care products originally associated with the clinic were spun off in 1982, and have been part of the Beiersdorf family of companies since 1991.

To the scent. This is patchouli done to perfection. You can definitely smell it in there but it smells GOOD. I'm not a patchouli fan in general, but in this I not only tolerate, I love it. It mixes so well with the vanilla orchid and guava. I can definitely also smell the plum blossom and pomegranate. This is kind of sweet but not overly so, cause the patchouli grounds everything, but this is not a dirty patchouli. MR is a deep scent but still kinda fresh at the same time, if that is possible. I would wear this either day or night, spring, summer, fall and winter. You could say that it has a little bit of a tropical vibe to it, because of the guava, but it still smells classy. Two words perfectly describe Midnight Rain: Exotic and mysterious. It could be worn in summer nights, or on grey winter days when you need something warm and cozy that makes you think of summer nights. The mixture of alluring fruits, creamy warmth and woody notes make this special and versatile. I like the opening luscious fruity notes, even if they're a bit... unapologetic. The looonnng middle period jars me. It's spicy and peppery on my skin. Is this the patchouli? I have to assume it is, because I can find NOTHING in the listed middle notes that would blast my nostrils in this way. I am not a spice fan. What is it about this expression, "Angel clone", that I do not understand? I know what ANGEL is. I believe that I understand the meaning of the word 'clone'. Why is every other sweet floriental in The Holey[sic] Book dismissed derisively as an "Angel clone"? Oh well. I find that it's hard to write a review of the fragrances I really like. Midnight Rain is one of them.Vetiver is most closely related to Sorghum but shares many morphological characteristics with other fragrant grasses, such as lemongrass,...Vetiver smells dry, earthy, woody, leathery and smoky. Think of uncut grass on a warm day and you'll have a rough idea of what vetiver smells like. Vetiver is considered to be a more masculine fragrance, and is used in candles, colognes and other scented products marketed to men. Quite a bit of it, actually. Apparently it's raining guava and it's a downpour! Guava is heavy throughout the entire life of this fragrance. You must love the note to even begin to tolerate this composition. Fortunately I find guava appealing, BUT not enough to be drenched in it. Absolutely beautiful fruity floral. The apple comes through on a beautiful blend of woods, mosses, sugar and more. On me this smells clean and fresh - I love wearing this in summer. It's sparkly and refreshing and the bottle is gorgeous - has a great "feel". This fragrance is sure to please a very wide range of fragrance lovers. It's perfectly balanced and well blended.

the juice in the cute little dropshaped silver bottle is pure bliss! i expected something very different, not that smooth and innocent. don t get me wrong, the scent is strong and intense, not weak but soft and dreamy. kinda adictive.La Prairie fragrances took a different turn in 2009 with the introduction of the Life Threads series. Silver, Gold and Platinum were introduced in 2009, with luxurious bottles decorated with fine filaments of the precious metals. This line of fine fragrances was continued in 2010 with the introduction of the next wave of Life Threads fragrances: Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald. The bottles of these fragrances were adorned with gemstones. Limited editions and gift sets of Life Threads fragrances were offered in 2011. Vetiver is the 11th fragrance note in La Prairie Life Threads Silver. Chrysopogon zizanioides, commonly known as vetiver and khus, is a perennial bunchgrass of the family Poaceae. My mother always told me "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" but I have always held with Dorothy Parker: "If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me..."
