About this deal

Though all four siblings are named as owners, while Digby is still underage it is down to the older trio to get all of the hard work done, which means a lot of night shifts to keep up with ever increasing demand and a lot of weekends spent at events and fairs to grow their brand. A famous Georgian masterpiece, straight from a Jane Austen novel, and a popular wellbeing destination.

The final botanical line up consists of ten botanicals: juniper, coriander, cardamom, orris, cubeb, liquorice, fresh orange and lemon, sliced blueberries and vanilla pods. Provenance has been placed on a pedestal for some time now, but the Sibling Distillery team are more concerned with the taste of an ingredient, rather than where it grew, so while the blueberries are local, the rest of the botanicals are sourced globally.

After a year of development, they launched Sibling Triple Distilled Gin, which was their first and only product for the first three years of trading, before moving to a new distillery and launching their seasonal range in early 2017. With all of them under 25 years of age, Felix, Clarice, Cicely and Digby Elliot-Berry are not only award-winning distillers, but also the youngest distillers in the world. They grew up in a family atmosphere soaked not in gin but beer, brewed by Mr. and Mrs. Elliot-Berry at the Battledown Brewery, a microbrewery that specialises in a line of premium ales that it provides for “local public houses, hotels, restaurants and shops.” Experience love this February with a budding of spring and Valentine’s Day, the perfect time for a romantic getaway. Sibling Distillery is a gin distillery which was founded in 2014 by the four Elliott-Berry Siblings. Watching their parents working hard to run a small microbrewerywhilst they were growing up gave them animmense passion for qualitydrinks making and also formed their commitment to doing things the proper way. Sibling is one of the few distilleries in the UK to make gin entirely from scratch, no shortcuts, no neutral spirit, no compromise on quality. Their range is contemporary, creative and fun, whilst still valuingtradition and quality, so much so that their Sibling Original Gin actuallywon the full 3* at the Great Taste Awards amongst a whole host of other awards for their range. The distillery was founded in 2014 when Felix was 22, Clarice 20, Cicely 18 and Digby 15. The Elliott-Berrys grew up in the drinks industry, watching (and eventually helping) their parents, Roland and Stephanie, run Battledown Brewery in Cheltenham. Inspired by their upbringing, the siblings knew that they wanted to run their own alcohol company one day, but didn’t take the decision to make a gin until they were on a family holiday in 2013.The turnaround from inception to production was swift – within a year Sibling Gin had launched, a swiftness Felix attributes to the available space at their parents brewery. The most time consuming element of the process was developing the recipe, a task the siblings considered to be of utmost importance from day one. We make our own base spirit, so we know that the base of our gin is extremely pure. When you combine this with the fact that we vapour infuse our botanicals, it means we can use very delicate flavours to create an exceptionally refreshing gin. Notes of fresh blueberry and Madagascan vanilla pods elevate the classic London Dry botanicals and allow the flavour to finish on a smooth, rounded note. The light juniper and fresh citrus zests bring a different, more classic element and complete the flavour; whilst very subtle spice from cubeb berries brings the Asian influence that gin fans have loved for centuries! Visit the Cotswolds for a relaxing January getaway in a cosy holiday cottage. Indulge in a spa treatment or unwind by an open fire. By now it should be obvious that this is no weekend project, nor whimsical summer project of an impetuous youth – the work that went into creating the recipe alone is demonstrative of the drive the siblings have. It is testament to their diligent natures that they have made things as hard as possible for themselves by choosing to keep everything internal, making their base alcohol from scratch. Felix explains: “Having grown up with our parents creating beautiful craft ales from scratch we also had the desire to do everything in house and under our control.” After finding out from a distiller in 2012 that a gin with ginger as the predominant flavour hadn’t existed commercially for over 100 years, founder Richard Bamber set out on a journey of discovery that resulted in Brennen & Brown, the Cheltenham based distillery that produce a vast range of flavoured and special edition gins. If you’re looking for a truly immersive experience, Brennen & Brown offer fabulous and ginformative gin tasting evenings, as well as Lab Experiences for two where you can create your own bottle of gin. They are also in the process of building a Ginsperational Tasting Room to complement their experiences.

Bold, popping with colour and full of flavour” they claim they should be on the hit list for any burger obsessed foodie. Bella Mia With a botanical line up treading a new path and an even-gendered board of young, conscientious people behind it, Sibling Gin is one that reflects its distillery’s ethos perfectly: Don’t be afraid to be different. Good things comes to those who think big, act bold and work hard. We’ll be following their progress and watching keenly as their youthful enthusiasm continues to flourish into the successful business it has already shown glimpses of. Try some for yourself - we’re sure you’ll be impressed. Renowned for its smooth and luxurious flavour, our Original Gin was one of the trailblazers in the early years of the gin revolution! When we launched Sibling, we knew that due to our age and the fact that we didn’t have the heritage other brands enjoyed, we had to make sure that the first thing we released was genuinely different and stood up to the heavy scrutiny it was bound to get! With an emphasis on traceable, fresh ingredients, they promise a menu that is wholesome, nutritious and bursting with flavour. Hop Kettle Create your own unique gin with your signature botanical blend using our hands-on gin lab workshops. You get a ‘base’ gin from which you can add each botanical until you’ve perfected your own recipe. You’ll get a chance to taste lots of different gins and learn about the distilling process and all while enjoying a G&T or two. This isn’t the only problem their age has thrown up – the Advertising Standard Authority took umbrage at the Elliott-Berrys showing their faces when marketing the spirit, as it countered their rules on people under the age of 25 being used to advertise alcohol. This made it a lot harder for them to tell the Sibling Gin story and - in the short term at least - has cost them the chance to shout about their gin. In the craft age narrative is an important selling point, so too is presenting the makers behind a gin, so the siblings losing the chance to say ‘this is who we are’ has been difficult. Named after the grilled Mexican street corn, Elote offer a combination of Tex Mex and traditional Mexican dishes, using ingredients supplied directly from Mexican Grocers. The next step for Sibling Gin is a physical move into new premises, one much larger and more suited to their workload. They want to be able to deliver tours and host events, and also work in an environment that doesn’t reach 40°C in the summer (a reasonable request, we feel). Moving will also increase capacity, meaning that they’ll be able to experiment a bit more. Nothing has been planned yet, but we can’t help but feel the need to point out how well the sugar heart of this gin would suit an Old Tom variant… The most sought-after and exclusive holiday properties, promising the ultimate in home comforts, a world away from home.

Located in one of Bath’s many beautiful Georgian buildings, the Bath Gin Company is Bath’s first gin distillery for over 250 years, since the Gin Acts of the 18 th Century. They produce artisan flavours over their five-floor, self-proclaimed gin palace, with their adjoining Canary Gin Bar offering the perfect spot for a tipple or two. Sibling Gin begins life in the Battledown Brewery’s mash tuns and fermenting tanks. After the grain ferments, the resulting 50% ABV neutral spirit is transformed into vodka at the distillery, a vodka which is carbon filtered for maximum purity and distilled once again, this time with the gin botanicals. Felix, the oldest of the four at just 23, has worked in the brewery since its inception 11 years ago. “I started my first job washing the beer barrels on Saturday and Sunday mornings at the age of 12,” recounts the eldest brother. He got to know the inner workings of the brewing industry along with the restaurant and bar scene, as have his two sisters, Clarice and Cicely, 22 and 20 respectively. At 16, their younger brother Digby helps out with events and production, but is not yet full time as he’s still in school. While today’s UK craft distillers take much more time to make their gin, with most runs lasting between 12 and 48 hours before the liquid is ready for bottling, in Sibling’s case, the process takes nearly three weeks! The technology allows users to interact with the visuals, buttons and noises by moving their phone 360 degrees around the bottle, so customers can learn things about the drink, including which tonic goes best with which gin.
