About this deal

Jason Todd, one of the Robins, was murdered by the Joker. When Superboy-Prime altered reality, Jason returned from the grave. After he was enraged that Batman didn't avenge him, Jason located the Joker, stole the Red Hood outfit (but not before he beat him brutally), and took up the mantle of the second Red Hood. He used aggression and fear to control strong gangs and the mob, and supposedly saved the city. Jason was then found out of his activities by Batman. They argued over their theories of crime-fighting through combat, and Jason eventually showed his face and confirmed Batman's suspicion. Harley Quinn briefly assumed the Red Hood alias during the Death of the Family event while pretending to be the Joker. Here Joker made her wear the costume to lure Batman to the ACE Chemicals Plant as the Joker spoke through a speaker hidden in the Red Hood helmet. That Red Hood was shown to be an extremely capable fighter, and was able to hold his own against multiple members of the Injustice Syndicate. In addition, he wielded projectile weapons that were shaped like spades (a reference to his alternate universe counterpart's playing card motif). The Red Hood appeared in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode, "Deep Cover for Batman!" and was voiced by Jeff Bennett. That version was a heroic alternate reality version of The Joker. Like the Joker, that Red Hood was disfigured after he fell into a chemical vat at the Ace Chemical Plant. In his case, he was already a superhero and was actively dropped in by Owlman. However, his sanity was said to have been "bent, but not broken." Red Hood then tried to rally his world's heroes (alternate versions of the villains from the "normal" universe) against the Injustice Syndicate, but they were defeated. Red Hood escaped and tried to use a device to recruit help from an alternate Earth (Batman's Universe), but he was captured by the Syndicate.

Four years later, the Red Hood costume finally ended up behind glass on display in the Batcave, as glimpsed in Batman #506.Many people like Redhood because he has a cool and dangerous look to him. He is muscular and has dark clothing on. Over his face is a fight fitting red mask. Only his eyes are visible. No one is able to see any other facial features. In fact no one can even see the colors of his eyes. Redhood gives the look of a tough guy that no one wants to mess with. Believing Batman’s methods for delivering justice were too soft and ineffective, Jason decided to take up the mantle of the Red Hood so he could punish evildoers with his own brutal sense of justice. The Red Hood was originally a disguise worn by the Joker before he was transformed into a laughing maniac. Jason chose to take over the moniker so he could own what the Joker did to him and use it to become the Joker’s destruction. Two different versions of the Red Hood appear in tie-in material to Batman: The Animated Series and the DC Animated Universe. Red Hood’s TeamsThough Red Hood tends to march to the beat of his own drum, that hasn’t stopped him from teaming up with some of DC’s other heroes. Red Hood’s teams include the Challengers From Beyond, the Outlaws, Teen Titans, and Young Justice.

Redhood has not always been the hero in the Batman series however. He has been given the part of the villain as well. In The Brave and the Bold the character of Redhood is a great fighter and was on the side of the good guys. An accident happened at a chemical plant where Redhood fell into a chemical vat and became disfigured and lost his sanity. Batman goes after Redhood but he is able to escape. Redhood is able to go to his own dimension. Batman is able to defeat Redhood and turn him into a good guy once again. Redhood even went on a crusade to kill gang members and other villains at one point to make the city safe. Red Hood’s helmet not only conceals his identity but contains a radio transmitter, plus it’s armored to protect his head. His signature weapons are a pair of handguns. He also keeps a dagger on him for close-combat fighting.Redhood has made several appearances over the years in various comic books. Redhood was featured in Batman: Under the Hood. He helped Batman fight crime including the Joker. Redhood was able to beat the Joker and takes control over the his gang in Gotham City. In 2011, he was once again brought to the limelight. DC comic developed the Redhood gang. In this story a young Batman tries to defeat the gang but just manages to get away with his life. In addition to these comic books Redhood has appeared in several movies and video games along with Batman.

A Red Hood appears as part of Joker's army of villains. Their costume is mainly inspired by the one used by Joker in The Killing Joke.Over the years people have come to love comic book characters. Everyone has their favorite character that they have come to love and will depend on them to save the day. Redhood is a comic book character that made his appearance in the Detective Comic services #`68, a book published for the first time in 1951. Redhood was also the character that inspired the Batman series and many experts say that he was the original Batman. Just a few reasons for this is that Redhood had to defeat a criminal that became known as the Joker as he reeked havoc on a town. Also, before fighting crime Redhood would put on a red helmet along with a red cape. While on a personal quest to find his long lost mother, Jason ran afoul of the Joker, who captured, tortured, and seemingly killed Robin 2.0 by beating him with a crowbar and leaving him behind with a timed bomb to finish the job. (Whether Jason ultimately lived or died was actually voted on by DC fans!) Batman was too late to save poor Robin, and losing him has become what the Caped Crusader considers to be the greatest failure of his life. Love Interests • Origins • Other Media • Publication History • Recommended Reading • Storylines • Video Games • Batman Family Though Jason was trained as Robin to use non-lethal weapons like Batarangs, upon becoming Red Hood he sought out training by the world’s greatest marksmen so he could kill any target, making him a master of firearms. The only other occasion that the Joker ever took up the identity of the Red Hood again was after his latest scheme had been thwarted. After he sought to restore confidence in his abilities, the Joker donned the domed helmet and tuxedo of the Red Hood again and committed a crime in Batman #450 (1990).
