About this deal

My partner and I went to see this show recently (July 2005), it was my umpteenth time and his first. I have to admit to not being a huge fan of the show, as, although there are many aspects of the production that I like, the show as a whole does not gel for me.

Austria: The German language production premiered at the Theater an der Wien in December 1988, running until June 1993. [96] A production of the touring version by Laurence Connor is scheduled to premiere in Vienna in March 2024, produced by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien at the Raimund Theater. Spain: A Spanish production ran at the Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid from 4 September 2002 to 30 June 2004. [126] A second production, this time non-replica, will open at the Teatro Albéniz in Madrid on 4 October 2023. [127]I must comment on the helpfulness of the theatre staff, as my grandmother uses a wheel chair, we were approached on entering the theatre by staff and taken round to a side door, shown the disabled toilets and taken to our seats before the crowds came in. Notes for minor double-act Matt Harrop and Adam Linstead in their postal scenes; Francesca Ellis as a strict Madame Giry who for certain also probably encountered the Phantom earlier in life, and Hywel Dowsell whose Joseph Buquet did a neat job shivering the spines of the ballet company.

Who the hell does Roger Waters think he is?". Q magazine. November 1992. Archived from the original on 22 October 2015 . Retrieved 20 November 2009. Hungary: Madách Theatre, Budapest. This production, which began in 2003, was the first to modify the original staging with new sets, costumes and direction. The five hundredth performance on 20 September 2007 featured four successive sets of casts. [89] I'm glad I saw the show, just so I could see what the fuss was all about, but it does confuse me as to why it's so popular. I'm thinking much of the audience were foreign tourists dutifully making their way round the London tourist trail. I find it hard to see the discerning person finding much appeal in Phantom of the Opera. Or am I missing something...?The Phantom was sung just as well or even better than Michael Crawford, and Celia played Christine very well - she sang with a voice that was as it is supposed to be, clear and clean. We sat in the Grand Circle D17 and D18 which is right in the middle. The view was very good (except for the lady in front of me who had quite big hair) but apart from that, no complaints, plus you get a fantastic view of the Phantom up to no good in the rafters.
