If you have paired your Bluetooth device with different devices before, your device may have automatically connected to another device without you knowing it. Make sure you disable that connection before attempting a new one. If your Xperia is currently connected to a Bluetooth device, the connected device will appear under ' Available Media Devices', as shown in the screenshot below.
