About this deal

Johnston, Rich (29 September 2018). "Richard Meyer Sues Mark Waid Over 'Tortious Interference With Contract and Defamation' ". Bleeding Cool. Archived from the original on 9 April 2019. Context: Wally West is the main Flash again. He works for Mr. Terrific and has a family who currently has two kids (Jay and Irai). I've gone into reading Mark Waid's "The Flash" without really having encountered many Wally West stories, apart from the early Teen Titan stories. I've chosen to buy and then read it because I trust Waid as a writer. I know there are going to be Flash tropes that I don't enjoy, but I have my fingers crossed that Waid is going to be able to make those tropes interesting. And, so far, he has. X-O Manowar vol. 2 #1–6 (co-written by Waid and Brian Augustyn, art by Sean Chen and Scot Eaton (#5–6), 1997) Issues 62-65 is a Year One storyline for Wally West. Considering that Waid was a new comic book writer in the 1990s, giving him a Year One story to write was a gutsy editorial move, considering that Frank Miller was the man who wrote Batman's "Year One," this just isn't something typically given to a rookie writer. However, Waid deliver brilliantly with a story that updates but still respects Wally's silver age origin but also gives Wally's character some depth.

The Born to Run storyline that functions as a retold origin story for Wally West is wonderfully swift, energetic, and filled with great dialogue and impeccable cliffhangers. The Return of Barry Allen” is one of Waid’s most famous Flash storylines. I already knew what happened, but it’s still thrilling in hindsight. This seems like the turning point for Wally, as he steps out of Barry’s shadow, comes into his own as The Flash, and matures as an adult. Waid gives Wally more personality here than before. I’ve never been a fan of the Flash, and I realize now it’s because I haven’t read stories like this one. It’s a great character study for Wally and a great read overall, with a complex villain to boot. McMillan, Graeme (February 18, 2020). "Mark Waid Named Humanoids Publisher (Exclusive)". The Hollywood Reporter. Archived from the original on September 1, 2021.

I loved this one and it opens up with a tale of the previous flashes and how they fight this villain Professor Fallout and its a testament to the legacy of the flashes and well showing Jay, Barry and Wally in their respective elements and I loved it! And the future flash costume was kinda cool and the villain while meh worked for this story! Also collects Green Lantern/Flash: Faster Friends #1 (written by Ron Marz, drawn by Ron Lim, Tom Grindberg, Jeff Johnson, Bart Sears and Andy Smith, 1997) But throughout his work for DC, Mark Waid’s greatest cause was his relentless effort to keep the rich 30th century world of the Legion of Super-Heroes alive. Let’s face it, when the premise of a story is that it’s set a thousand years in the future, that future is going to keep looking outdated as the decades roll on. But with the Legion’s many worlds, heroes and stories representing the ultimate future of the DC Universe itself, the Legion is worth preserving and worth reinventing. Which is why Mark Waid did it all three times. First as editor, by overseeing a “Five Years Later” time jump which would lend the Legion the maturity it needed in a changing comic book landscape by aging all of its players forward. Then in 1994, Waid was heavily involved in a complete Legion reboot around DC’s “Zero Hour” event. Ten years later, Waid did much of the writing around another Legion revival, sometimes called the “Threeboot,” attempting to synthesize the best ideas from the Zero Hour era and the classic, original Legion. It was a concept which Waid refused to give up on even when its future seemed bleakest—something that all of us with a sometimes-neglected favorite character can relate to. Honk! #1–3 (with Kim Thompson and Andrew Christie (#2–3) — as "contrbuting editor"; magazine about alternative comics edited by Tom Mason, 1986–1987)

In 2016, Waid and artist Humberto Ramos co-created The Champions for Marvel. The following year, Waid returned to the Captain America series beginning with issue #695 working with artist Chris Samnee. A new Doctor Strange series was launched by Waid and Jesus Saiz in 2018. [60] Waid also launched with artist Javier Garrón a Ant-Man and the Wasp miniseries to tie into the release of the 2019 film of the same name. Legion of Super-Heroes vol. 4 (co-written by Waid, Tom McCraw and Tom Peyer (#68–71), art by Stuart Immonen (#0), Lee Moder, Chris Renaud (#67) and Jason Armstrong (#70), 1994–1995) collected as:

"Mark Waid Charts New Territory for Indestructible Hulk". Newsarama. Archived from the original on October 17, 2013. And then the big story with Aquaman and vs Marine Marauder which was alright and then vs Abra Kadabra which I loved and Waid does show the 64th century he comes from and its kinda cool and seeing some new concepts there were refreshing and really shows Wally's choices as a hero! And yeah good battles and heroic moments.
