About this deal

Logan’s talent is no longer a secret. Lies is a tautly imagined and plotted thriller with a jaw-dropping ending, featuring an empathetic and sympathetic main character in Joe Lynch. Joe is truly a good man, devoted to his wife and son, committed to his profession (teaching), and honest. Through Joe’s first-person account of the nightmarish circumstances in which he finds himself, readers understand and can relate to his frustration, anger, and sheer terror at the prospect of being wrongly accused of committing a heinous crime. Assuming, that is, that Joe Lynch is a reliable narrator. The story is littered with plenty of red herrings and great chapter cliffhangers that makes this addictive reading.

The Curfew follows the events of a hot midsummer's night, when five teenagers go up to the woods to celebrate the end of exams, and only four come out... This would be a good beach read. No in depth characters to analyze, but a fun plot. And the ending is not believable, but it was still fun. Trust me follows Ellen, after a young woman leaves a baby (Mia) with her on the train. A note asks Ellen not to tell the police or trust anyone. As the truth unfolds Ellen has to fight to keep Mia safe.I knew I wanted to write so journalism seemed an obvious choice, and after five years as a reporter and then education correspondent on the Nottingham Evening Post I moved to London to work on the Daily Mail. At the Mail I became the paper’s Science Reporter, covering all kinds of stories from new technology to the environment, space, genetics, health and medicine. I enjoyed being a national newspaper journalist but it didn’t leave much time for anything else – like thriller writing. Exciting, thrilling, totally engrossing this fast paced, twisty turny thriller is guaranteed to keep your attention and I absolutely LOVED the ending, my eyes felt like they were holding their breath and didn't want to blink!! For university friends Kate, Rowan, Izzy and Jennifer reunite to celebrate turning 40 this year, this novel introduces an interesting dynamic of people who’ve got a tight bond but slightly different lifestyles now.

Great start, its taut, exciting, intriguing and suspenseful, and when they both get kidnapped it ratchets up all those things even more I was born in Berkshire and grew up in Reading, the youngest of three boys and a fully-fledged bookworm from a very young age. I read history at Westfield College, part of the University of London, and went on to do a postgrad at Cardiff University.I loved the ending. Right when I thought I had figured this one out, a big twist comes along that wasn't expected at all and it left me speechless. It was a big surprise. This one kept me on the edge of my seat. It is not a predictable read and I thought it was mind blowing and AMAZING! This one is tied in first place in my favorite shelf for this year. Crazy good!

The book takes place in France. Great! Too bad the author forgot to include any kind of descriptive settings to reinforce that. It could have taken place anywhere. Also sexist is that the couples are literally staying in a house on a vineyard but none of the men drink wine. Only beer, whiskey or tequila. How masculine of them!.....eye roll. This means the Channel 5 drama could possibly end up changing how and where Ryan is disposing of his victims to make the events all take place near to their West Country home. Meanwhile, his book counterpart’s past living in Manchester with Eileen and then his first wife Lori might also be a little different and made more West Country-focused in The Catch adaptation.

What To Read Next

so he turned out to be the good guy but why was he so damn threatening? like if the police screwed you over, i think there are better ways of saying that then kidnapping an innocent women and threatening to kill a baby. i dont blame everyone for thinking you were a pyscho Ellen is quietly sitting on a train when a young woman called Kathryn sits beside her with her baby and they start chatting. When Kathryn has to take a call she asks Ellen if she'd mind holding the baby and leaves the carriage. After the train pulls in at the next station Ellen, to her horror, sees Kathryn rushing off down the platform, mouthing 'sorry' at her. Ellen rifles through the baby's bag and finds a message from Kathryn saying, 'Please protect Mia. Don't trust the police. Don't trust anyone'. Need to be careful this weekend like we discussed... Remember to delete messages as soon as you read... Does K suspect anything...

I want to thank St Martin’s Publishing (one of my favorite publishers) and Netgalley for letting me read this for my honest review. Ultimately, we'll just have to wait and see as The Catch show lands how many of the same plot-threads start to emerge building to episode 4 or whether things do start to go in a different direction. We can't wait! How to watch The Catch You cant beat the start of this, unassuming lady on a train, annoyed by a baby and Mum that comes to sit with them, Mum ‘has’ to take a call and asks if she can hold the baby, train pulls into a station, Mum is seen walking away, baby left with unassuming lady

Ellen was one of those characters that I felt empathy for but frustrated with at the same time. Separated from her husband and desperately wanting a baby of her own, there were times when some decisions she made had me shouting in my head “why are you doing that…” and I had a horrible feeling that things wouldn’t end well, however her protective instinct towards a stranger’s baby and the unknown danger that they both faced, spurred her on.
