This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I like a stronger perfume for an evening scent. Aldi have done a good job in trying to replicate the smell though, and I think if you haven't worn the Jo Malone version before, you'd be impressed with the dupe. I don’t think I’m quite ready to abandon Alien, but Superdrug’s Blossom certainly makes a decent stand in. Fragrance lovers rejoice! Aldi’s popular health & beauty brand, Lacura, is welcoming two opulent fragrances to its cult line-up – Hotel Collection Tobacco & Vanilla Eau de Parfum and Hotel Collection Sandalwood & Jasmine Eau de Parfum. Aldi is certainly know for its dupes, from its Cuthbert the Caterpillar controversy and 'Mint Bubbly' take on Aeros, to its Lacura range, which has versions of best-selling beauty products by Liz Earle, Nivea, Pixi and more.

Jo Malone's Velvet Rose & Oud has been my go-to evening perfume for the last few years, so when I first came across Aldi's Hotel Collection No. 14 Velvety Rose, I didn't quite know how to feel. With decent perfumes being pretty pricey, I’m often on the hunt for a good dupe so was keen to try Superdrug’s Layering Lab range.How can you be sure they’re actually similar scents to the original? Escentric Molecules perfume dupe Aldi Atom The first thing I noticed was the smell as soon as I took the lid off before I'd even sprayed the product. Straight away it smelt very familiar, so this was a positive first impression. Blossom is just as floral and feels just as luxurious as Alien, but certainly doesn’t last as long.
