Mandarin: Rodi Zhìzūn (Taiwan, 羅迪至尊 Luódí Zhìzūn, "Rodimus Prime"), Bǔ Tīan Shì (China, 补天士, "Gentleman Who Repairs the Sky") This is the closest to a realistically proportioned Hot Rod that is not repainted or retooled from another figure. It does, however, have a very similar transformation to Robots in Disguise Legion Class Sideswipe. Studio Series has been a very fun and nifty toyline making really detailed and accurate toys of characters from the 6 live action movies as well as the classic 80's animated movie. This figure is definitely a highlight of the wave for me. It should be noted, though, that most of the Titan Master heads for the Leader Class figures are basically just larger-scaled "faces" that look incomplete without a corresponding helmet, which results in the smaller-scaled full heads of the other Titan Master figures looking rather obviously out of scale when used on a Leader Class figure. Over the last few years, I sold most of my G1 stuff, but I intend to keep this figure. It’s solid, it’s got a really fun transformation, and it looks nice. Even if you don’t collect any G1, I still recommend it as a curiosity piece, or as a small vertical slice of “what mid-to-late G1 was like.” Of course, the real question is “how much is it worth?” To put it bluntly, with the exception of the smaller minibots, I feel like the current run of Wal-Mart exclusive G1 reissues is overpriced for what you’re getting, and you should wait for a sale, like the current run of Hot Rod reissues eventually found themselves on. I bought mine years ago, and don’t recall what I paid, but it’s something I’m never letting go of, and am happy with it. So, it’s worth getting, but keep an eye on how much you pay.He includes a collector card featuring art from the " The Colossus War" episode of Transformers Legends, which is based on his old Generation 1 body rather than his new look in the toy. The included instructions, while calling him a part of Optimus Maximus, show him attached to a control drawing of Ultra Prime instead. Due to a design flaw, it can be difficult to get Hot Rod's car roof to firmly latch into the chassis; on some specimens it is simply impossible.

This figure features minimal partsforming, with the Rodimus Prime fists being formed by attaching the two halves of the front end of the trailer to Hot Rod's knees.

Years later, Hot Rod held a fairly high rank in the Autobot army, equivalent to Prowl, and was sent on a mission to Ki-Aleta to retrieve the Magnificence which turned into a only technically-successful disaster, with himself the only apparent survivor. Spotlight: Hot Rod When he found out Dealer had also survived, he rescued him from a Decepticon prison, unaware that he was the traitor who had caused things to go so wrong. Soon after, he was called to Earth to aid Optimus Prime, but briefly returned to retrieve the Magnificence to gain information on the Expansion, during which he discovered Dealer's treachery and killed him. Spotlight: Doubledealer Spotlight: Sideswipe Thereafter, he returned to his information-gathering task on the Machination, and though was badly beaten by Scorponok, he still aided in the Decepticon's defeat. Joining God Ginrai and Ultra Magnus in an assault on Mega Zarak, Rodimus was terrified when the mammoth Decepticon unleashed his titanic Anti-Gravity Rifle. Fortunately for the Autobots, the gun jammed and Mega Zarak was left fiddling with it while they opened fire. Anti-Gravity Rifle When the group instead flew after the Lost Light, they were forced to abandon ship, Sardines falling into the orbit of the original Mederi which Rodimus deduced was the legendary Cyberutopia. You Are Here Finding themselves caught in the plans of the mysterious Grand Architect, Rodimus managed to reclaim the Lost Light Lūstrāre before Megatron returned from the parallel universe alongside the threat the Architect had prepared for, the alternate Functionist Council whose version of Cybertron they'd turned into a planet-sized monster. The Architect then revealed himself to be Adaptus, naming the other members of the Guiding Hand, all of whom Rodimus had crossed paths with in his life. The Return of the King After Adaptus had been killed, The Unremembering Rung, the new identity of Primus himself, gave his life to produce twelve duplicates of the Matrix, allowing the Lost Light crew to overload Vector Sigma via Cybertron's hot spots, disintegrating the Functionist Council.
