About this deal

The release dates for the physical versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition have changed. I cannot simply wait to skip liberty city again and play vice city and San Andreas. Oh just remembered the cool bits in San Andreas where you visit Vegas and San Francisco. God damn huge map that game. I know Vs map is bigger but but San Andreas just has more places. Looks like a surprisingly high quality job. Wasn't expecting to be impressed by the first footage, but these look nicely updated visually while still not losing the aesthetic feel of the original versions. To prepare for launch, we will begin removing existing versions of the classic titles from digital retailers next week."

Noted very few bugs owing to the time I could spend. Car doors opening through your character, getting sunk knees down in the sidewalk are frequent ones. Now that is not to say that the PS2 version was not fun and that the remasters would not also be fun if they ran at least as well as the PS2 version. But that is not what we are told we are buying and so any criticisms of how it falls short of what we were promised remain valid. Would it be worth a 4/10 if it were on par with the PS2 version (which the review contends that it is not anyway)? That I don't know. Maybe more a 6-7/10 on account of the broken promises but I'm not sure. Now, the key thing here is that Tez2 states that the reception to the GTA Trilogy might have been a factor in the decision... Might. Despite the poor reception, the compilation managed to ship an extraordinary number of copies, proving to be a commercial success if not necessarily a critical one. So this reasoning is likely just speculation at this stage. Both are good. Ones film quality and visual effects out dated but it’s still good and enjoyable to watch. Maybe if they can sort the framerate issues out a bit I'd be tempted if it shows up at a steep discount, though it is not especially compelling as it stands. Also I’d love a follow up like a month after the physical versions drop. I wanna know what one sells the best in the long run across the consoles since they all came out the same day.

And for those interested in the half-assed "physical" release, you're looking at about 12.1GB in "updates". 1GB for GTAIII, 5GB for Vice City (which is unplayable without), and 6.1GB for San Andreas. The latter is particularly ironic, because the "update" alone is bigger than the entirety of Vice City (how?). I might get it for PS5 too for 4K HDR and hopefully supports HD Triggers HD shoulder buttons. But it would need to offer more than Switch. VR mode would be acceptable. It was "suspicious" when Nintendo didn't show Advance Wars at the last Direct and lo and behold it has been delayed. When a game doesn't show up, it's frequently a sign of a problem. Scapetti Yes, of course, the buildings popping-in in plain sight because they removed the distance fog are just fine. So is driving at full tilt, hitting empty air and crashing only for a car to spawn there after you've already hit empty air. Sounds just fine to me and not like shoddy coding at all.

Xbox Series X / Xbox One and PS4 will now release on December 17. The Nintendo Switch version is coming in early 2022. Playing GTA on a dedicated handheld again has been a distant dream ever since the PSP releases of GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Vice City Stories 2005. The Switch should have been the perfect platform to realize those halcyon days, with improved performance and graphics to boot. Instead, we’ve been given shoddy ports that either shouldn’t have been released on Nintendo’s platform or delayed until performance could be significantly improved. Also I’d guess most things get ironed out by the time the physicals drop…. Digital are the test subjects before the physical drops I’m sure. 3 massive games in one game in who knows how long they have been working on it. Say since the switch came out for fun. That’s still not long for something of this size. This is all to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GTA 3, and other events will also be happening as part of the party: GTA Online will have special clothing, liveries, and surprises to discover, as well as "unusual activity" in San Andreas. It's a disappointing product for sure, and they're probably due some heavy patching, but these parts of the review didn't sync with my own experience or seemingly with any other reviewer. The GTA Trilogy will release later this year. We'll update you when we have a more exact release date! I hope that they'll also bring over the Stories games (originally released for PSP/PS2) at some point, perhaps bundled with a port of Chinatown Wars. I bought/played the iOS port of Liberty City Stories, and I thought it was great (and controls surprisingly well, though not ideal), and it was unique enough in its own right, which puzzles me as to why they aren't available on PC and other platforms. I would much rather play the Stories games on a dedicated handheld though. I miss the fun physics and the hustle and bustle of Liberty City. I couldn't play it anymore as I sold off my PS3 and Do you think Red Dead Redemption or GTV IV will ever see the light of day on Switch? Let us know in the comments below.

Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail. Speeding is difficult because vehicles in traffic go from 0 opacity to 100 in a second, affecting both gameplay and immersion. I wouldn't assume someone who enjoyed Skyrim to also enjoy Morrowind because the controls and systems are completely different, and the while franchise has gone in a totally different direction over the decades, the older titles have a lot of interesting mechanics the recent titles don't have anymore because they're more casual now. I think the same thing applies here, it's just not for everyone. With three great GTA great there's still fun to be had at points here if you can deal with the problems

Yomerodes thank goodness all my remnant traces of "Nintendo faithful" status likely went out the window the moment I became a simultaneous owner of TWO Vitas.😄 I don't see why GTA IV & EFLC couldn't. The Switch is perfectly capable of handling GTA IV and EFLC (but not GTA V)
