About this deal

Elliot appeared in two television variety specials: The Mama Cass Television Program (ABC, 1969) and Don't Call Me Mama Anymore (CBS, 1973). She was a regular guest on TV talk shows and variety shows in the early 1970s, including The Mike Douglas Show, The Andy Williams Show, Hollywood Squares, The Johnny Cash Show, The Ray Stevens Show, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and The Carol Burnett Show, and was a guest panelist for a week on the game show Match Game '73. She guest-hosted for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show and appeared as a guest on the show 13 other times. She also appeared on and co-hosted The Music Scene on ABC and was featured on the first The Midnight Special on NBC. She also headlined at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, before moving around the club circuit in Miami, Puerto Rico and London. However, her passing was ruled accidental and coroner Keith Simpson confirmed there was no food in her windpipe, nor were there any drugs present in her system when she died. Dr. Keith Simpson was not a good liar. He offered up transparently false and misleading testimony at least twice in his career.

The faux ham sandwich legend began with Dr. Anthony Greenburgh, a Belgravia physician and “doctor to the stars,” who entered the flat (loaned to Cass by British singer Harry Nilsson), and thought, as he told the Daily Express, “she appeared to have been eating a ham sandwich and drinking Coca-Cola while lying down -- a very dangerous thing to do. She seemed to have choked on a ham sandwich.” If you can find a credible source from the time that says there was a sandwich (ham or otherwise) in the room, then cite it.

We're all just lying around vegging out watching TV and discussing names for the group. The New Journeymen was not a handle that was going to hang on this outfit. John was pushing for the Magic Cyrcle. Eech, but none of us could come up with anything better, then we switch the channel and, hey, it's the Hells Angels on the Carson show... And the first thing we hear is: "Now hold on there, Hoss. Some people call our women cheap, but we just call them our Mamas." Cass jumped up: "Yeah! I want to be a Mama." And Michelle is going: "We're the Mamas! We're the Mamas!" OK. I look at John. He's looking at me going: "The Papas?" Problem solved. A toast! To the Mamas and the Papas. Well, after many, many toasts, Cass and John are passed out." The article says "a partially eaten ham sandwich was found by her bed". I doubt it. See http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/mamacass.htm The article plainly documents, "pathologist Keith Simpson, who conducted her autopsy, her death was due to "heart failure due to fatty myocardial degeneration due to obesity". A drug screen that was part of the forensic autopsy revealed there were no drugs in her system." The Reynolds speculation is simply non notable trivia.

The city of Baltimore dedicated August 15, 1973 as "Cass Elliot Day" in her honor for her homecoming. [47] State Archives Administration of the German Democratic Republic , Brown Book: War and Nazi Criminals in West Germany, East Germany: Verlag Zeit im Bild, 1965, pp. 41-2. Launching her career in TV, the star became a regular on talk shows and Hollywood Squares, as well as landing acting roles and her own programmes. In 1971, Donald von Wiedenman embarked on a journey of love and matrimony with Cass Elliot. The pair, deeply enamored with each other, exchanged vows and looked forward to a lifetime of happiness. However, fate had a different plan in store for them. Sadly, their marital bliss was short-lived, as their union ended in divorce just a few months later, during the same year. Despite the dissolution of their marriage, their relationship remained a significant part of their respective life narratives. Cass Elliot’s Remarkable Journey Harvey, Jonanthan Beautiful Thing Dramatists Play Services, Inc. January 16, 2000 ISBN 9780822217176 Helter Skelter is a cover-up, no less disingenuous than Dr. Simpson’s fat heart thesis and cooked testimony before the Calvi inquest. Donald Von Wiedenman was married to Cass Eliot. Their relationship didn’t last for a longer duration, and they got divorced. According to our research, Donald is single as of now.
