About this deal

The pattern is worked cuff down. It has an easy to memorize cable pattern on the seams. The body has purl stitch detailing. Included are 4 sizes and 3 heights. The free pattern below is sized to fit an average small adult shoe size. You can alter the size by adding or subtracting from the initial stitch count. Be sure to use an odd number of stitches.

You could knit this in a feltable wool and shrink it to make snug slippers, or try using dk wool and 3.5 or 3.75mm needles for a child sized version with no pattern alteration. With the free needle, knit across the 20 stitches that have up until now been on two needles (knit them onto one during this row).I know many of you enjoy working from a paper copy of your knitting pattern that’s why I offer a printer-friendly PDF completely ad-free here. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until your piece measures 16.5 inches (42cm). About 60 rows in my gauge. Toe closure/bind-off Knit across needle one then continue to knit some stitches from needle two onto needle one so you have 20 stitches on needle one. Divide the remaining 20 stitches onto the other two needles. You will knit the flap using the needle with 20 stitches on it. You start with the wrong side facing you ( as if to purl) ROW ONE

Subsidise the larder in a sustainable way. From fishing, to shooting, to foraging safely, find it among these articles. Hard to believe that these slippers are so beginner friendly? It’s actually a simple rectangle! All the shaping is done with just the natural stretch of the one by one ribbing. The toe is made by threading your yarn through the final stitches and drawing them closed, much like the top of a hat! From the home brewery to ambitions of chefly grandeur. Find out how to do it all here and really taste the difference. We now decrease so the foot after the heel has the same number of stitches as the leg: FIRST ROUND:

Socks demystified by Sally_In_Wales.

Slip 1 (insert needle as if to purl, but slide the stitch onto the righthand needle without actually knitting into it), then purl across the rest of the row; TURN ROW TWO: Round 4: *K1, INC1, K10, INC1, K1* (increase 4 STS) (If you have a narrow foot, you can skip the next increase and go to round 7.)

Join without twisting into a triangle and prepare to start knitting at the first stitch you cast on.Repeat round 7 for 13″ (33cm) from CO edge, or desired length. I made mine long enough to fold over. Slip 1, knit 1 (repeat across, sl1-k1); TURN; This gives an effect a little like rib, with one large stitch next to a tight one and makes a nice cushioned heel. No worries! There are plenty of rounds in between twists, so you can enjoy the squishy goodness of cabled fabric with a relaxing knit that’s just interesting enough to keep you engaged.
