About this deal

Does the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ apply? Well - yes and no! It may be tempting to look at a carrier that is super-cheap (after all what if your baby doesn’t like it? What if you don’t really use it?) but be aware the very cheap options can often be horribly uncomfortable and may well not support your baby safely. It may not be the carrier design itself - it may be it just doesn’t fit your body shape properly or is too big for your baby. They often have very short life-spans (largely due to the fact they’re not hugely comfy). Look out for anything being sold pre-loved as ‘barely used’ or ‘as new’ at a super-cheap price. The chances are they didn’t find it very comfy so didn’t use it(!) the head support which can be folded down for the outfacing position is very high when folded up, giving my baby a great, adjustable head support and shade when she falls asleep on my chest (looking inward)

I've tired 4 carriers of this type: Beco Gemini, Baby Bjorn Original, Baby Bjorn One, Ergo. I liked Baby Bjorn One the most. I also have a Boba wrap.

Should You Consider the Beco Gemini?

You don’t just have the four options, but they all tend to work equally well. You’ll find your favorite for the little one, but this is not one of those situations where you really only have one usable position and the other three are just window dressing. Easy to convert leg positioning Weight recommendations: The carrier has been designed to grow with your baby from infancy (0 months) to toddlerhood (age 4) and has specific width and height settings based on the age or weight of your child (rather than leaving parents to adjust it themselves based on guesswork). It also has ‘infant positioning’ instructions specific to babies 0-2 months. Size and weight limit: your baby will fit and be safe if she weighs anywhere between 7 and 35 pounds. The Beco Gemini does not need an infant insert. Instead, it uses an adjustable seat for newborns up to 15 pounds. It’s designed to fit any adult between XS and XXL. Cons: All those straps can get in the way of baby's arms; not as soft as other options; 8-pound minimum does not make it suitable for all infants

The only negative point I can think of is that they don't seem to make a detachable hood for the Gemini, but I'm not a big fan of them anyway and would probably never use it. If you do want one though, you can easily find custom made hoods for this carrier on the Internet. All the carriers in this list have been tried by parent testers. During the testing process we considered comfort, ease of fit, adaptability for different body types, number of carrying positions, fabrics used, design and appearance, and extra features. We also asked testers if they felt the product was worth the money. The Carifit Carrier is a specially designed lightweight carrier designed to move with your body, fully adaptive sizing for all body shapes, made from recycled materials, fully breathable stretch 3D knit made with recycled bottles converted yarn and has been specifically designed to help support the body post-partum.
