About this deal

RIP: The Missing Chapter (DC #701-702). This is a very shallow story, but a beautifully written one that does a good job of bridging RIP and Final Crisis. Without those end points, it'd be a bit of nothing. [4/5] Included in this Omnibus: BATMAN #655-658 and #663-683, stories from 52 #30 and#47, and DC Universe #0. Batman vs. Robin (B&R #10-12). Another terrific story. The mystery about the missing Batman is wonderfully laid out, but Damian's coming of age in this story is at least as meaningful, and a terrific milestone in Morrison's run [5/5].

Love him or hate him, Morrison’s most enduring contribution to the Batman family is introduced here. For all intents and purposes, Grant Morrison’s extended run on Batman continues with the New 52 Batman, Inc. The series essentially continues operating as if the New 52 never happened, which is totally cool if you enjoyed Batman, Inc. to begin with. Obviously Morrison wants to spin his own crazy yarn and doesn't bother with Bat's famous rogues, but rather creates a few new ones himself. That's what I love about this run, Grant takes chances. This isn't The Long Halloween, where Scarecrow, Ivy and others step out of the villain clown car. This is a celebration of what you can do with a character that has decades of comic history under his belt, without resorting to easy and safe homages. This is everything Morrison has been building up too. All his weird parts that didn't make sense in the first omnibus come to fruition here. And its soooooo damn good! I honestly don't have a ton of gripes with this volume. The stuff with Batman on Apokalips was strange but needed because of Final Crisis. I also didn't care for Sensei being revealed as R'as Al Ghul's father. That just seemed odd to me.It kind of felt at certain moments that Morrison wasn't very invested in retreading certain obligatory aspects of Superman's new and old mythology (even if modified), and that they were itching to get to tell their own stories with their unique spins. The next one is issue #0 where a young boy finds Superman’s cape. With this cape it helps him find the courage to stand up to abusive people.

If you are a fan of Batman, it would be a travesty to miss out on this collection of his dark times and some of the best villain interactions, and the stories that include his son. Collects: Batman #65, 86, 112, 113, 134, 156, 162, Detective Comics #215, 235, 247, 267, World’s Finest Comics #89 Annual #1 (super enfrenta um homem irradiado com kryptonita e conta com a ajuda do aço) de sholly ——-entra após o #6 I bought nearly the whole of the New 52’s #1 issues but none of them got read more than Action Comics #1. It literally pulsed in my hands as I read it. It was stripped down, it was propulsive, muscular, clever, insane, and it looked like something transported from a Bruce Timm inspired 40s newspaper stand. On the second time through these stories, I noticed a lot of groundwork being laid early on, like the Zur-En-Arrh graffiti and mention of criminals that Batman wouldn't encounter for another year and a half. As much as I rag on modern Batman, Morrison weaves a great series of tales. And for the stupidest, most basic of reasons too. I thought I was too clever for him, too cool, too “sophisticated” of a comic reader to even try to connect with him and any of his incredible stories. You don’t have to read these issues to enjoy the run starting with Batman and Son, but I can promise you Morrison’s plot and reverence for Batman lore will make a lot more sense if you do. Grant Morrison’s JLA Starring Batman Officially, Bruce Wayne publicly linking himself to Batman by funding Batman Incorporated is something I'm not a fan of but after enjoying the first and second Grant Morrison Batman Omnibus, I had to complete the run. I am quite glad I did. However, what Grant Morrison established in the 1990s that laid the foundation for Batman as the character, is his humanity, feelings, and a true superhero. The 1990s were really dark for DC characters, especially for Batman, however, Morrison managed to “humanize” Batman. When it comes to his works, there are plenty. This is the list at first glance:
