About this deal

A couple of weeks ago I had The Terrible Cold That Isn't Covid and found it hard to concentrate or settle on what I wanted to read and it was in this unpromising frame of mind that I started A Lady's Guide to Fortune Hunting. For the first chapter I thought maybe I had made a mistake, it felt a little overwritten and self consciously Heyerish and I almost put it aside. Thank goodness I didn't because this charming regency romp was exactly what I needed and I raced through it. honestly, this is one of the best romances I’ve read so far this year and regency romance/rom-com fans are bound to enjoy it!

With only twelve weeks until the bailiffs call, Kitty has no choice but to launch herself into London society, using every ounce of cunning and ingenuity she possesses to climb the ranks. A complete joy! Irwin’s fresh take on Regency romance is a timeless masterpiece featuring a whip-smart heroine who shares sizzling chemistry with a reluctant lord, and an ending that I promise will move you to tears. Irresistible.” Quando passeiam pelo Hyde Park, Cecily reconhece uma antiga colega do colégio que frequentou, os De Lacy. Dorchester & London, 1818. Kitty Talbot is a woman on a mission. She needs a RICH husband within the next four months if she has to save her family home and ensure the future of her four younger sisters. The problem is not just the time constraint. With no title, no parents, and no fortune, Kitty has to use all her cunning to push her way in the top echelons of London society. However, there’s a huge obstacle standing in her way and his name is Lord Radcliffe. Will Kitty overpower Radcliffe’s hurdles and be successful in her mission to save her family?I was utterly charmed by this enthralling romp set in Regency England. For those who love Georgette Heyer, Jane Austen, or Bridgerton…This sumptuous, fast-paced treat is unputdownable, whisking you away to the heady world of gowns, gossip, and gambles.” I loved reading this so much! It was one of those books that really grows on you, not just in the way the plot progresses but also with how you see the characters evolving. The romance was a slow burn and had you on your toes all the way through. Bridgerton fans will devour Sophie Irwin’s delightful Regency debut… A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting is a confection to be savoured!” Irwin’s debut is a delicious historical romcom in the vein of Martha Waters and Bridgerton without the smooching.” I absolutely, loved, loved loved, this book. The characters are so fantastically well drawn, the period detail gives the perfect atmosphere. It was like finding a long, lost Georgette Heyer, only better. Stayed with me after, keeping a smile on my face. A triumph.”

Estrellitas. Si tuviera que definir en una palabra éste libro, sería Delicioso. Una auténtica delicia, no es una joyita ni lo mejor del mercado, pero su sencillez y cómo está contado hace las delicias de las lectoras. Perhaps I should have just written a letter," he said to himself, still staring longingly at the door. "Mary said this was the best way to do it, but I think a letter would have been simpler. I can't think properly with you shrieking at me."A delightful romp—as clever, capricious and charming as the heroine herself. . . .a sparkling debut that reads like a turbo-charged Jane Austen.”
