About this deal

Shuffle the 16 Unit Cards and deal 4 face-up in front of each player. These are the 4 units that player will have available this game. On your turn, select a coin and either place it on the board, discard it face up, or discard it face down. For your first game, we recommend you and your opponent use the Unit Cards shown in this picture rather than a random set. Player A starts with the Initiative Marker. If this is not your first game follow the set up described below. The chivalric system was a huge part of medieval warfare. Various offices of state were handed out to the highborn of the land, from Bannermen that surrounded kings and queens, to Earls and Heralds enacting their liege’s will across the realm. Bishoprics had much land and influence associated with them, and were sought after position for nobles.

At the start of the round, each player draws 3 coins from their bag and puts them in their hand, hidden from their opponent. At any time that you need to draw coins and your bag is empty, refill it with the coins in your discard pile. Each turn, players deploy units face-down to the battlefield, revealing them when they are spied upon, or enter combat. On a parallel ‘Shadow Map,’ hidden specialists are deployed to help spy on the enemy, sabotage their units and help shift the course of the game.

Control the location where the unit stands, by placing your control marker on the space or swapping your opponent's control marker with your own (Note: 1 Control marker per space, i.e. you cannot "bolster" control to have 2+ control markers on same space) Had my regular Cthulhu Wars crew over today. We usually try to start with something else (we've been playing a fair amount of Tiny Epic Crimes lately) and when talking about a couple other games, I... Move a unit on the board that matches the discarded coin. Units can move one space in to a unoccupied adjacent hex. If you have any pics of games in progress or upgrades you’ve added to your game feel free to share. The tactics on the units are varied and interesting, and can really turn the tide of the game. Players need to be aware of what their opponent's units can do to ensure they don't move their own units in to an unfavourable position. This is, again, something that more experienced players might perform better at than new players but all the units have clear to understand tactic cards that can be referenced so shouldn't a major problem.Take any one coin from your supply, show it to your opponent, and put it face-up into your discard pile. The game continues until one player or one team has placed all of their Control Markers on locations. Locations are a special kind of hex, indicated on the board with green knotwork symbols. Note, each player will need to keep an area separate to their supply that will be their discard pile. It is from the discard pile that you refill your bag when you need more coins, not from the supply.

War Chest is a two to four-player abstract war game from designer Trevor Benjamin and David Thompson. It's published by AEG. You may discard any coin facedown into your discard pile and pass. If you pass, you are not required to pass with subsequent coins. You may use any remaining coins as normal. Activate the unit's tactic. The Tactic is the unit's special ability which is carried out in full; it is described on the unit's card, an "!" shows something extra they can do beyond normal rules whilst "X" shows something that unit cannot do within normal rulesCan you add these four new influential units to your force, and use royal proclamations to your advantage, to once again triumph in this masterful game of tactical warfare?

Control a location that you occupy by discarding a coin that matches the a unit on the board on a control space. If the space contains an opponent’s control marker, this is returned to the player. In phase two these chips are used to perform a number of different actions. Actions come in form of placement, face-up or face-down actions. Placement actions include: Each player has a set of coins representing different units, which will be different for each player; each unit behave differently from the others. To succeed in War Chest, you must successfully manage not only your armies on the battlefield, but those that are waiting to be deployed. War Chest is a bag building game with poker chip style coins that represent your units. Each turn players will draw three coins from their bag and use these to perform a variety of actions. The game ends when one player has placed all of their control markers. Set-up The tactics on the units are varied and interesting, and can really turn the tide of the game.
